Capcom enters into cross-licensing agreement with Bandai Namco for online matching

Ever notice how Tekken and Soul Calibur lets you select a move or combo from the command list and have the character perform it with button timings shown on screen? Now, do any other fighting games do that, despite it being a good idea?

And that's why the Challenge modes in Capcom games don't have a "Show me!" button.
SFV has that though.

So sony is the bad guy now for not wanting people to log in live on PS4? Despite the fact the sony was the first to allow crossplay with pc.

You got it the wrong way. The whole live connectivity was only for Minecraft. Rocket League has it's own network infrastructure and Sony still wont allow cross-play with any other platforms besides PC.

Other FGs have that though, DOA comes to mind.

edit: ah, not with the button presses timed onscreen I don't think, if that's the patented thing

I don't give a damn about this!
Just fix the fucking netcode already!
Since they care so much about players experience.
Experience starts with NETCODE!!
I'm fucking sick of this. The fact that everybody just keeps it up with the hype about every frigging article that comes out just irritates the heck out of me.
I mean look at killer instinct, look at mortal kombat xl.
Their netcode is a masterpiece. I play Usa-Albania where my friends live and basically all europe without a single lag. Open sfv..here we go with the WARPS, LAG SPIKES, huge fucking TELEPORTS.
And ya'll keep hyping up for everything else that they say.

What a weird post.

That they can even patent these kinds of instructional gameplay elements in the first place is a complete and utter farce. It's holding the genre back big time.

They can't be referencing Tekken 7 (PS4)'s disastrous matchmaking. This has to be in reference to Pokken Tournament which was stellar.

hot damn, no wonder i didnt see it in other fighters.

For whatever it's worth, the trials mode in SFV has a demonstration option where it shows you how to do the trial.

EDIT: Aah ok, that's cause they Bamco allowed them.

"You got it dude!" - Michelle Tanner

Given they made the deal sometime in 2014, anything that SFV's benefited from relating to the patent is thanks to the deal. Akuma's inclusion to T7 was pretty early, he just wasn't brought to the game until FR.

What a weird post.
How exactly is it weird? Are they talking about a better experience? Well my experience is so shitty with sfv to the point that after 25 years of playing sf series i had enough of that ridiculous netcode which ruined the experience. Illuminate me

This is very weird because the Tekken 7 training mode isn't that good. You can see the AI do the move but you don't get confirmation if you did a move/combo correctly like in most fighting games.

And for whatever reason, combo demonstrations are in SFV.

Well for one, you started your post in a thread about an initiative that quite possibly could lead to new netcode or netcode fixes with "I don't give a damn about this! Just fix the fucking netcode already!". Then you made two remarks commenting on how people aren't as outraged as you, as if outrage is supposed to be the default reaction to this news. Chill, my guy.

That's partly why SF4's trials were so painful for people new to FGS, just gives you a list of shit to combo with zero context as to how to do it.

Fighters Megamix? I remember really liking that training mode
