Sad. Capcom releases a poor 2D fighter. It sells like shit. Gets poor reviews. Vindicates the presumption that 2D fighting is dead.

But at least they could try to let it go out with a bang. Capcom and Playmore fighters have been so bad over the past 5 years.

No. CvS2, MvC2 (if you like that sort of thing!), KOF 2000, KOF 2002, KOF 2003, KOF Neowave, Garou Mark of The Wolves, SS5 Special, and even Hyper Street Fighter II disagree with you.

And there's been plenty of 2D fighters released over the past few years; it's only Capcom that has decided to stop releasing new games and rerelease older games instead.

CVS2...I'll give you that. It didn't suck but I found it mediocre.

KOf2000 was not as good as what came before it. It was a rush job.

KOF2002, 2003 I found just as mediocre as CVS2.

KOF Neowave...I'll give you that again, only because I have not played it.

Garou: MOTW, was released in 1999, so that falls beyond my 5 year thing.

SS5 special, was nothing special. Old sprites, old gameplay.

Hyper Street Fighter 2 was merely a compilation (with a great version mix option). Doesnt count.


Garou and Third Strike were probably the last best, FRESH things to come out, IMO.
