Jesus, thought the infamous "best of the generation" attitude Nintendo fanboys had during the N64 era was over. Charts and hit parades are everything. Identity is nothing. They gotta have games that are the "best of the generation" in something. Best water this generation. Best flames this generation. Best textured wall this generation. Best toilet paper this generation. And, obviously, best game this generation, as if a game was something measurable like skyscrapers, rivers or the like. And then we wonder when they call us childish nerds.

RE4 would be many peoples best of the generation no matter what console it was on. There are plenty Nintendo detractors who are totally infactuated with it even Hilary from XboxIGN would have chosen it for GOTY over Halo 2, San Andres, MGS3, Ninja Gaiden, Riddick ect. It has nothing to do with Gamecube as much as it has to do with it REALLY being one of the best games to come out this generation. I wouldn't care if it was PC Only this game is more fun than 99% of the games to hit the market these days.

I post at TeamXbox and the game has a pretty damn big following over there also. Console bias sucks when deciding the quality of said games. Halo reached over to other platforms fans, GTAIII reached over to other platforms fans and now so is RE4. Live with it cause it really is THAT good to a lot of multi-console gamers. If Xbox gets a better version you better believe I'm gonna buy it.

RE4 is nice, but some people are overrating it, imo. I think in a few months when the hype subsides, we'll get a more accurate picture of how relatively good the game is.

So what if some editor liked it better than I did? So what if some editor prefers another game than my choices? Who cares? Do I have to look up someone's preferences before making up my own?

I played the game and really enjoyed it. What do you want from me? Some seal of quality that will validate your existance? Well, here it is: RE4 is the best console game on the gamecube and a fantastic game regardless of platform.

I'm not a big fan of GTA games so much. I hate MP2's stupid scanning mechanism to progress a story. I didn't like HL2 much and don't consider it within the best 5 games of last year regardless of whatever an editor wants to believe. But I don't dispute these games are of an undeniable quality that makes them stand out from 99% of the other games.

what a bunch of lamos. I play games; not consoles - go find my reviews/opinions on PMTYD - not a 10, not a 9.. about a 7.5ish. 0.9 off GI's 6.6 or whatever it was. I don't just like all Nintendo games blindly. I posted my comments and Nbots said "I sux" - see deg. Nice. I have also dissed WW in parts - I prefer to be a gamer than a console elite fuck. As for my generatiional game remark. You know what. I played RE4 and it blew me away. I'm not a huge Capcom fan - see Onimusha 3 comments (unplayable)... but something about the game just felt right. GREAT visuals. Stunning audio, kick ass action. BEST GAME I have played on all my consoles this gen. So there. Yes. It is the best game. I also advocated buying it on PS2 if when this game comes out; if you have no gamecube. Capcom deserves your money and the game deserves to be played. Now if you GAFconsolephobes will leave me alone... I'll go enjoy my games and not play this "absolutely hung up on console business"

I've never been to the gameranking site in the last 8-9 months and so no one can think a game is TEH AWESOME if you don't think it is. The fact that in the main RE4 thread; you started off prejudging the game too early. I read your posts and I knew how your impressions went from "meh" to good stuff. Dark10x was about the same. For him, the game went from okay.. visual oddities ---> top 10.


AND I WANTED TO ADD. IT HELPS THAT I'M A RE FANBOY. I'VE PLAYED AND COMPLETED THE WHOLE SERIES (except CV).
