I've been without a Gameboy for ages, and the promise of Sigma Star Saga prompted me to go trade-in a bunch of crap and buy a NintenD00DS with which to get my Wayforward fix.
While waiting for SSS to arrive, I decided to bust out some of the GBA back catalogue I'm amassed over the years. Starting with Car Battler Joe.
Sure it's no Twisted Metal, but it's similar; as similar as a dopey 2D car combat game can get, but god damn is it fun. You play the spikey headed kid who's totally hot mother (4chan dojin plz!) gives you the car your father wanted you to have when you turned 16 to tool around your doki doki post apocalypticu village. You go forth and take courier missions from town to town, delivering packages, blowing shit up, etc.
There are RPG elements which allow you to upgrade your car, take on more challenging missions, and acquire newer licenses.
