Castlevania DoS: Alucard is back

Of course Alucard is going to be in the game.

The quesiton is, are they going to stuff a port of SOTN in that card too?

I wonder if something awful swell will open up if Aria of Sorrow is in the GBA slot and Dawn of Sorrow is in the DS one...

Also, the Alucard sprite in the magazing is significantly more complex than the SOTN original. Look at the highlighting on the boots and pants. I really hope this puts to rest all that crap that DS can't do graphics as good (or rather in this case better) than the PSX.

(Copy and paste, you can't hotlink.)

I TOLD YOU ALL SO.

HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW.

Also please note: SOTN's original resolution is 256 X 207... they could definately do a port to DS and not lose much.

dammit...they're gonna make me buy a DS just for this game.

I'm a bit disappointed by the music quality. I thought the instruments in the trailer would be used in-game. :/

Sounds pretty much like I expected. A huge improvement over the GBA games to say the least. I think CoD is going to have a better soundtrack obviously.

Castlevania music onwz! :D

I hope Konami puts more music samples (and maybe orchestrated remixes) like they did with Aria of Sorrow...

Can't wait for this game :D ...

Tradition?

Was AoS Akumajou Dracula though? For some reason I thought White Night Concerto (er, Harmony) was the only Japanese one titled Castlevania, but I could be wrong.

>>>>SPOILER!

I bet ya didn't know that <<<

Is it still a spoiler after sixty-two years?

The last two GBA games as well as LoI are all called Castlevania in Japan. Iga said they changed the name so that they didn't have to include Dracula in every game. Now the DS game and the upcoming Curse of Darkness for the PS2 are back to being titled Akumajo Dracula.

I'll have to begrudgingly buy a DS when this game comes out.

The Futureshop cashier will wonder why I'm so grumpy. I swear, I'll be pouting and frowning when I slap down my debit card.

The Swedish magazine Reset gave the game a 8 and a 9 (dual reviews) and called it the best game in the series next after Symphony of the Night.

I only have Castlevania HoD. I think the gameplay is a bit repeating sometimes and the music isn't very "great"...but this one looks really really interesting, imo. I don't know what the soundtrack in the other Castlevanias was like so perhabs HoD is just a bad representative...

HoD is easlily the worst of the GBA games.

I've had this game on preorder from Japan for quite a while now, and it's only getting more interesting the more I read about it.

Also, I'm interested to see what Konami cooks up for Castlevanias 20th anniversary next year.
