Castlevania DS exceeds Konami's expectations

This is great! I thought the game gasped and bombed in its first month, but it looks like solid reviews, word of mouth, and a reinvigorated interest in the DS has resurrected its sales! And it's very deserved, imho, certainly one of the DS' highlights!

Good news, but I really hope it doesn't mean they'll stick to the generic anime artwork from hereon, bring back the gothic style please.

Definitely one of the best Castlevania games ever. That snowy village area is just classic. It gives me that warm cozy feeling I got when playing MGS for the first time.

Heh funny, the snow village area is my least favorite in the entire game, I always dread going back there when I need to purchase something or synthesis weapons.

Finally, a game worth getting gets the sales it deserves. Now if people would stop buying that stupid Fitty cent game... :(

The absence of 'Heart of Fire' from the DoS soundtrack made me cry. Thankfully they had a good version of Bloody Tears though.

I wish I could find a rip of Heart of Fire.

And yeah, getting 9 of any soul was a bitch.

Worst fucking idea ever suggested on this board ever! If that hack even touches the Castlevania series, I'll suicide bomb Konami's headquarters.

No just suicide bomb your computer and spare us from your dramatization.

Konami should take note of Ghouls n Ghost for psp and make a Castlevania with 3D graphics and 2D gameplay.

And u sad I had a bad idea? Yuck. "I"D FIR3 BOMBZ EYEGA IF HE 3VER DiD DIS!"

Have you seen videos of Ghould n Ghosts? It looks great. It's probably the only way we'll get a proper 2D style castlevania on consoles. It IS a good idea, because it will retain what makes castlevania special, unlike your idea about Kojima who would just turn it into yet another series whos focus is more on story and cinematics than gameplay.

See Konami?
Now give us that 2.5D console Metroidvania that would kick all asses!

( and please prevent IGA to make ANY 3D game forever only if for the sake of humanity )

IGA had an interview saying he will make more 2d castlevanias if Dawn of Sorrow sold well.. Its in the back of that double jump strategy guide (interview is)

Well.. looks like we will be seeing more 2d castlevanias for the future on DS thats for sure <3

What if the Castle contained volumes of parchments about Draculas cursed history which contained clues on how to finally defeat him. There are so many things to draw upon from the order of the Dragon to Alucards mother.

Oooh yeah...what if you found said parchments by turning on some kind of optical device...something like a "scanning visor" for instance, which highlighted such items from afar and could also be used for solving puzzles and finding secret areas? You could even use it to find weak points on the bosses! By jove, I think you've struck upon something here, m'boy!

Now your gettin it! But more like Resident Evil Mansion mystery than Metroid labyrinth orbs.
