Oh yeah, I didn't pay attention to this one after the other Castlevania series. I know it got good reviews but how did franchise fans feel about the first season?

Loved the 1st series but the art style or movement put me off on this one. Only watched 2 episodes; might try it again

More divided than they were with the previous series. Which makes little sense to me because they were both complete and utter trash.

I wished they would cut down on the words containing „fuck“ by about 99%.
First Castlevania was also full of that tryhard edgieness.

Didn't the first season bombed anyway?
I think it did pretty well viewership wise. It was definitely a step down from the prior show. Even ignoring the woke stuff, it was kinda meh. But the very end did enough for me to at least give the next season another shot.

Can't wait to see how they evolve the series in order to bring us the all important message with this one. Think it might be time for the Alucard dap scene.

I had no idea people were saying the Castlevania series was "woke"... I enjoyed what I saw enough, I should probably finish it and check this out. I remember some of the dialogue being ridiculous, but hey, it was still enjoyable. I've just been on a Castlevania kick lately as I've been blasting through the collections on Steam. I really wish we'd get a new (and great) one.

S1 was short, S2 was mostly great, S3 I just could not get through even half of and I dropped off. Worth going back, pushing through S3 and then watching Nocturne?

It had a gay relationship and a backstory of black slaves fighting for freedom. This is automatically enough for it to be labeled as woke nowadays.

Ah, eh. I hardly pay attention to any of that, so honestly I don't even keep track or know how to, lol. But that seems rather tame to me.
I'll watch. I enjoyed season 1.

Also, anybody watching the Terminator Zero anime also on Netflix? I'm a few episodes in.
Terminator Zero was great, much better than I was expecting.

There was also Richter being weak and whiny almost the whole season with the strong woman who knew magic being much more capable.

The first series replaced Grant with a woman, and put Alucard into a gay relationship. The creator also proudly claims to have not played a single Castlevania and not care about the lore.

The original series started strong, but then went in questionable directions. Nocturne was OK, but the escaped slave plot could have been cut entirely and not affected the story at all.

What the mainstream vampire bullshit never understood about the original work is that vampires shouldn't have sex. It just works so much better. It's canon for the vampire chronicles.

In TVC once a human is made into a vampire they no longer can do sex and also they are no longer INTERESTED in sex. Their insides are dead. Their bodies are dead. They are undead.

The view the draining of blood(even the small drink) as a world of feeling and emotions that sex could never touch. Sex to them is a brief and ugly little ball of secrets. Instead they hunt and drain blood. That is their pleasure.

So because they are basically asexual their companions can be either men or women without the need for preference.

So why do vampires have infinite shex is everything that comes out? Guess.
