Does anyone know a way to get pictures from my computer onto my cell phone as a wallpaper? I've got an LG 4500 through Verizon, and it's not a picture phone so I can't just take a picture of whatever's on my screen. I'm wondering if there's like a web service I can use or a way to hotwire the pictures into my phone.

You guys are all tech Gods... surely there's SOMEONE on GAF that can help a poor boy like me out.

I recently got a Sharp GX-15 which allows infrared, bluetooth, USB transfers...I was wondering if I could do infrared transfers with my PC...I'll check it out.

Anyways I use the cellphone camera to do photos of what I want as wallpaper. I mainly use artbooks as source and the result isn't that bad.

Dunno, I just use usb for my PC to Motorola V3 and Bluetooth to swap files from phone to phone. I tried making photos with the camera, but they're too crappy for my liking. Custom-made wallpapers look way better anyway because of correct resolution/cropping.

This may not work if the LG 4500 can't do PIX messaging, but I've got an LG VX8000 through Verizon so I'll tell you what I do. You can buy a USB cable and transfer files directly, but you can also email them to yourself if you don't want to buy a cable. Your phone's email address for PIX messages should be your 10-digit number @vzwpix.com (eg. 5551234567@vzwpix.com). Note that not all email services are alike; I can't send myself ringtones and such via Hotmail, but Yahoo works just fine.

Also bear in mind that if you don't have the Unlimited PIX messaging plan, you'll be charged something like $0.25 per email you receive.
