Chaos Legion

I bought it for $12 at Blockbuster, played it for an hour, then dropped it like a rock. The game is overly simple, not very hard (enemy swarms become a joke once you get better guardians), and it's repetitive. Couldn't sell it because the dicks at the counter wouldn't let me have a case insert and instructions, and it gets nothing on trade so it's a dust nest in the closet right ow

i bought the game for $5 at CC's sale last year. I actually enjoyed the demo, but i played it for about 30 minutes, made it to like the 2nd boss and was bored of it. Not so much that it was repetitive, but i didn't like the "legions" shit, having to summon and build up these characters. Give me Dynasty Warriors instead, where i can just run around as a single character tearing shit up. I still have it though, so this thread reminded me that i need to go Gamerush that sombitch. thanks!

I liked Chaos Legion. I think the problem is the main character has the same 4 hit combo sword slash which just gets boring slashing up hundreds of enemies. However, you have Legions that you can summon that can aid you in battle to either defend or attack on your command. You can use the legions to finish your combo or use them as a special attack when they are not summoned. The second character you get near the end has a more interesting combo set which involves firearms and hand to hand attacks. Screw the haters! I had more fun with this than Dynasty Warriors two years ago. Capcom USA increased the amount of damage you take from enemies(JPN version was easier).

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot more than Dynasty Warriors too... the continuous upgrading of legions was cool, and there were some nice boss fights too.

Did no one actually play Chaos Legion to the point of understanding the battle system? It probably had the combo system with the most possibilites until DMC3 came out. As you go through the game getting new legions you power them up and gain new moves when they are equipped. Since you can equip two at a time you can mix and match to get all kinds of moves like having 2 weapons in DMC3. Using this you can think of tons of combos in your head a try them out in the game. Boss fights were all pretty good too. The only time the game feels shallow or lacking is when you have your legions in physical form and you just command them to attack, having them as moves is sooo much better and that's where the real meat of the gameplay is.

Level design was pretty weak; story was ehhh ok I guess; graphics could've been better. But the customizable combo system and experience legion leveling systems were great. Felt worth it at $60, so for $10 its a steal IMO.

So boring. There was nothing interesting enough about the game to discover it's hidden nuances. Ass camera, etc. I'd avoid.

Uh, Devil May Cry 1 (2001) had a better combat system than Chaos Legion.

Next, you can swap 4 weapons instantly in DMC3, 4 weapon full canceling, not 2...

like,....OMG! ugh =p

I got Chaos Legion for 10 bucks. It was fun, but then it got really hard.

But like, I was busting out all the combo possibilities I could, so the the challenge wasn't something "fun to overcome" like it was in DMC3, where the thought of getting the next new weapon or leveling up and getting that new gameplay style was all the motivation I really needed.
