Ive got not one, but 3.
Ive hated Aloys inability to shut up and stop acting like an arrogant jerk towards her friends, Betas and Alvas the big bang theory cringe energy so much in Forbidden West that ive turned off the subtitles and voices and "supplemented" the absence of sound and story in that game with by watching Netflix/Amazon on the second monitor. Its my GOTY so far, 10/10 do recommend.

I remember seeing the trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood and immediately losing all interest.
Every now and then I'll remember how much I enjoyed Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Old Blood & The New Colossus and wonder how Youngblood even got past the first design pitch at MachineGames.
Far Cry New Dawn falls into a similar category.

Pikarina in Puppeteer will always be the correct answer. The amount of sass there is off any scale, and she NEVER shuts her trap.
Shion Uzuki almost managed to ruin the entirety of Xenosaga just a few steps before the end with a certain scene.
Toad made Mario Kart 64 even worse than it already is with his horrible voice.
Tidus. He’s just a character specifically designed to make you want to punch him.
Almost the whole NPC cast in Twilight Princess does its best to destroy any atmosphere the game otherwise strives to create. It’s like everyone is wearing a mask for a carnival, plus it looks like every NPC was drawn by a different person and nobody cared to give some uniformity to the game’s chara design. Almost everyone seems to have come from another game through some wormhole.

agree, I despised aloys personality. Oddly I had not issues with her in the first game. But the second game, every interaction she was either as you say 'an arrogant jerk', or she would be doing this weird almost talking through gritted teeth fake smile, seemingly constantly irritated at the inconvenience of having to talk to someone. Every interaction seemed just insincere and disingenuous with friend or foe alike. It just made her super unlikeable.
Zero dawn was a long time ago, but I just don't recall getting that vive during that game.

V is fucking trash. I usually finish DMC on every difficulties including DMD.. except DMCV because of V. I just couldn't vibe with his gameplay.I don't give a damn what the V internet defense force has to say. All the missions with V are THAT PART of DMC5.
That being said, I still love this fucking game.
Luckily Capcom redeemed by releasing VERGIL and it's possible to finish the whole game with him

That particular move was butchered in the EU version, as you couldn't decapitate humans, and in Ryu's case most hand to hand moves like flying swallow didn't look as lethal.She has a slick flip over enemy execution that I envy as Ryu while holding heavy weapons. Has a really versatile charged attack that can be sped up with the right earring. Also, the whip.
P.S. Her moveset was butchered in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 though.

Only one who can run. Only one with that special grab move where you strike the head of vilains like they were coconut. Four types of throws instead of the three the others have (ok max has 4 also but he's a wrestler his whole shtick is throwing people). No one knows his age, might be as young as12 yo, still beat up thugs twice his size and four times his weight.
Only way i could beat the game when i was young was using him because his standing special (the breakdance windmill move) goes under Mr X goddam machine-gun-whole-screen-attack. I could not avoid it any other way. Plus it's always a son's duty to save his father from a crime syndicate.
Anyway one character who ruined a game for me is anyone not being Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles in any Sonic game. If i had to choose one it woud be shadow the edgelord of course

I’m playing Ocarina these days and this doesn’t hold a candle to the immense infuriation of Fi from Skyward Sword. “2.8% chance you will chuck your Wii remote at my face” and giving you solutions to puzzles as soon as you enter a room.
I don’t even know why people complained about Navi. I’m playing, for essentially the first time, and she genuinely helps. The only time it’s intrusive is when you wander around too much and she tries to remind you of your goal. Even that is helpful sometimes.

Agree, it was particularly egregious in the sequel, I still haven’t gone back to it.
When I had to use MJ and the stun gun to take down Kraven’s professional mercy, ugh.
The game is called Spider-Man for fuck’s sake, I want to BE Spider-Man. If you’re going to force me to play segments as MJ at least give her some cool powers/abilities or some shit.

The V segments in DMC5 were absolute shite. He looks like an emo's idea of a badass but he reminded of Kylo Ren from those rubbish Star Wars movies who's also a cunt himself. I managed to suffer through them as the rest of the game was good.
I'm trying to play through God of War 2018 now but fucking Atreus is so annoying that I can only play it in short bursts. I'm sick of this twat pointing out obvious things to me all the time and his shrieking dickbag voice.

I actually turned off Resident Evil: Code Veronica when Steve is introduced. I'm not joking when I say that his accent and the way he speaks, completely ruined any interest I had in CV.
And I had played every RE game at that point, I even love 6 and 5.
But I can't. I fucking can't with Steve, at all. I'm sure there's worse with him, beyond his introduction, but that was enough for me. I'm never gonna play Code Veronica.

Just more forced diversity bullshit. You can have strong and interesting female characters without being forcefully dominant in awful writing and direction - in game design too. They (Insomniac) also made her ridiculously OP as in she was arguably more powerful than both Spidermen with her stun gun by one shotting mobs in SM2. I mean are you actually shitting me. Why are we playing as a her in a Spiderman game for the second time when there were aplenty of compaints for the first game, then they doubled down and made her a bigger role.
And the way they changed her into another typical self rightous (and unlikable) Marvel girl-boss just took the cake. A lot of her scenes that kept on bitching and talking down on Peter just had my eyes rolling to the back of my skull. Never playing that again. Actually, fuck Spiderman.

What the hell? She adds stakes to the game. Without her the rest of the journey and plot would be meaningless. Also, the revisits are smooth sailing in comparison to Water World the first time around.

This. The dialogue and character design was atrocious. Very out of place and unnecessary.
I also agree with Chadley (FFVII Remake and Rebirth) and the other robot kid....so incredibly annoying. Game would be better if they just removed them from the game completely.

I finished DMC 5, I thought it was a good game and based on the chronology, you can select one of the 3 protagonists. I played more with Dante, V, Nero, but you can build the story according to your choice.

It was lame because of Ultima, if he never existed the Odin dude would be different, rather than a weirdo with oedipus complex.
No Ultima plot and FFXVI would automatically have a better story, the emperor and that bitch could be the first half villains, then on the second part the Odin dude is the final villain.
