Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

Is there such a thing as Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Wii U, PAL, that doesn't come with the Wii disc? I have a seller who has it new (sealed) and says it doesn't include the Wii version, but I thought all versions did.
They probably resealed it.

Only in the world where they did a second print run and the first print was actually sold out which is not our world.

GAME (UK) no longer match trade in prices with CEX.

I don't know who they are "won't be beat on trade ins!" with anymore.

No where else trades in games?

annoying as i lost out a fiver for horizon

It's just a phrase now. Grainger do trade ins as well.

Do you not have a CEX close by? They were only supposed to match with CEX if they were close generally. Some stores refused based on that.

There's this on their site with their new robot branding:

Wonder if they are matching those that are local still.

Don't you guys buy/sell from other people? I do, use a second hand app that is great (wallapop), in a year I had problem only once (guy didn't show up)... Much better price than any store for buying and selling. Trades work well too.

Takes less than a minute to publish what you have and then chat through the app with the people interested. No need to give phone address whatever.

Stole my post.

My local GAME, well, ex local as I recently moved, never even matched CEX for cash, only GAME credit, despite the internet telling me otherwise.

...And who the hell wants GAME credit???
Game credit is only useful for buying consoles as they have great bundles sometimes. But for games... Meu, overpriced shit.

Read that the Sterling dropped today a little. I know it's off topic but I need to get some Sterling this week for a short trip and i haven't kept up with the Brexit process for a while, do those of you more in the know think this could be a bit of a regular slide in its value for a while or is it more likely to be a bit of an anomaly?

It's going to move based on news, so it's a betting game right now. Do you think any news that comes out about the negotiation process is good or bad for the UK in terms of the markets?

It'll keep on slipping on the long run. However game publishers will also rise the prices, Hearthstone already did so.

GAFSpain:

I swinged by Worten today and they had just gotten new Nintendo Switch stock and it's
277 EUR!
Couldn't say no to that price, tho there were no games left only 2 copies of 1-2-Switch and 1 of JDance '17 lol.

Maybe it's like that in every store of the chain, this was in Tenerife. They still had 4 consoles (no Neon tho) left 1 hour ago out of the 20 units they had received in the morning.

Grainger? sorry, not heard of them.

Yes, i have a CEX about 2 minutes away from GAME. they said it's just something the company doesn't do anymore. I double checked with game help on twitter to see if the guy wasnt just screwing me.

:-/

Grainger is really a northern only game retailer. They exist that's for sure.

Do ShopTo send out games before the weekend, or are they likely to ship them out on a Saturday (For a Tuesday release)? Looking to order Mass Effect: Andromeda from somewhere and ideally want it as early as possible.

If the publishers aren't strict on the date I've received Tuesday releases on the Monday sometimes but occasionally on the Tuesday as well.

Andromeda's out in UK/Europe on the Thursday (23rd) though, so they'll likely send that out on the Tuesday.

Ffs I thought it was out on Tuesday...

Guess it doesn't matter then, cheers...

Hey guys, does anyone ever have good deals/sales on xbox live gold subscriptions?

My subscription runs out at the end of the month and Id rather not pay full price for a renewal if I can help it.

They've now rolled out their 'trial' of no longer price-matching across all UK stores, sadly - this took effect as of a couple of weeks ago.

wtf!?

where exactly?

Some trade in prices have gone up, maybe not as much as CEX but not too bad...but man I used to love the CEX plus £1!

I was trading in Sniper Elite 3 and actually got far more with GAME than CEX were offering me ( both trade and cash ). Think I ended up with about £35 a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the advice guys. Maybe I'll just take the good and get it done sooner rather than later (and keep an eye on import prices while at it).

Wait what. Is this nationwide?? I used to go to GAME all the time for trade ins because of their price matching. They pretty much always were worse than cex unless you matched... But I hate CEX, zero interest in credit for there.

Sadly it is. They didn't do much in the way of publicising the change, not that that surprises me.

I'm not surprised.

It used to feel like a steal trading stuff in there with CEX's great pricing and then being able to use it on brand new stuff with GAME.

They must've been seeing it as making a loss. Can't have the customer winning!

I'm heading to Japan soon from the UK for a trip and noticed the Switch retails for 29,980 yen over there, which is a meagre £215. I read about the ability to shop tax-free there when you show your passport which is cool but is it possible to, in plain terms, get it from there to the UK with no extra cost to me? I am stopping in the Netherlands for a few days on the way back to the UK which might also change what to be aware of in terms of what to do at the airport.

I was thinking of just unboxing the whole thing and sticking it into a carry case loose in my bag anyway and putting the two docks in my suitcase, to save space and hassle (and have some Shovel Knight to play on the flight back). Is this dodgy AF or no big deal? I really don't know.

That is assuming there will be any in stock over there, which I'm totally expecting there to not be!

I'm just glad I traded in all my Wii U and Wii stuff a few months ago, priced matched everything I could and must have easily made between £100-£150 extra.

According to the gov website.

"Arriving in the UK by commercial sea or air transport from a non-EU country, you can bring in up to £390 worth of goods for personal use without paying customs duty or VAT (excluding tobacco and alcohol, which have separate allowances). Arriving by other means, including by private plane or boat for pleasure purposes, you can bring in goods up to the value of £270. Above these allowances and up to £630, there is a duty flat rate of 2.5 per cent."

In theory you should be able to just go through the nothing to declare isle since it's easily under that limit.

That said, I feel like that may be irrelevant because you're stopping off in Netherlands. You'll probably have to find out Netherlands rules on that kind of stuff.

Inter-EU flights don't usually check that kind of stuff since you can transport goods freely in the EU.

Mind you, there's something to be said that you'll probably won't even be checked if you just have it in your luggage to use. Most will probably just assume you already owned it.

Thanks! Found this NL equivalent at https://netherlands.visahq.com/customs/:
"Free Import quantities when travelling from outside EU
...
Other goods
• Medication – for personal use only
• Personal items of non-commercial nature worth up to 430 euro when travelling by air or sea
• Personal items of non-commercial nature worth up to 300 euro when travelling by land
• Personal items of non-commercial nature worth up to 150 euro for travellers under 15 years of age.
Non-commercial item are of an occasional nature and consist exclusively of goods for the personal or family use of the traveller, or of goods intended as presents. The nature and quantity of the goods must not be such as to indicate that they are being imported for commercial reasons."

So sounds like the same kind of deal only with 430 euro instead of £270, hopefully there are no other small rules that I need to worry about.

I am lucky that I have a Grainger Games in my town, who price match trades but pretty crap if GAME is your only game shop.

Not a "real deal" Tenerife doesn't have taxes.

Traded my sealed (they opened) copy of COD Infinite Warfare in game today, 30 euros in credits. I still have another copy of the game sealed and one opened that I intend to keep (because I found out that there is split screen in the zombie thing).

Is it true that you can't sell two copies of the same game? Should I go later when there will be someone else working and sell it or they won't let me?

I'm probably using those credits for a Switch later this year, or to get a game on launch in the slim chance that it actually costs 60, not 65 or 70 as they do usually.

Also, did For Honor bomb? Amazon already has it a little over 40 and game has the deluxe for exactly 40! That's faster than The Last Guardian lol. I won't buy because it's repetitive as fuckand and online p2p is a joke, but the gameplay is solid and very well done.

So, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Digital, UK.

Near as I can tell, the cheapest way to get it is to buy UK PSN credit at CDKeys, and use that. It drops the cost to about £43.

Am I missing something, though? No way to get it cheaper?

Buy 50€ worth of games and use the 10€ credit in April to get it even lower (whatever that is in £)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hahah... Yeah, I had my eye on that offer, but the reverse - buy H:ZD (and a cheap theme) using PSN credit, and then using the credit in April for something else. :D
