Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

all these persona 5 orders and here I am like a dum dum still ordering from Amazon.

I cancelled my Zavvi order and ordered with Amazon because I've had real bad luck with Zavvi and preorders in the past.

My friend got his copy from Zavvi yesterday :(

Hearing stuff like this from Zavvi had me really nervous. Their tracking egven said Tuesday-WEdnesday delivery for my CE but it arrived today :D.

Zavvi are just hit and miss.

Sometimes they ship early, sometimes they ship late.

Only real reason to order them is if they're cheap, but that's rare considering they sometimes cancel pre-orders when you use a code - which is what makes them cheaper in the first place.

Terrible customer support if something goes wrong though. You have to really make a fuss to get anything sorted.

Yeah that's what I'd heard about them as well, wasn't in a rush to get persona 5 when I ordered so i stuck with them.

I had to contact them once since a manufacturer of a blu ray changed the artwork and removed the slip case of a blu ray which I ordered and didn't tell manufacturers about evidently since after Zavvi organised a return, which wasn't difficult I ordered from Amazon and it was the same shit so that was definitely the manufactuers fault and not Zavvi's =/. Anyways , my point is I had to contact them to get something sorted they organised a return without any hassle. Also contacted them to cancel an order a couple of hours later and they did that as well. Either they've gotten better in the past 2-3 years or I've been lucky.

Amazon are pretty good for release day delivery but that is just not good enough when there are options to get a game 3 days early.

Getting a game on the day it's supposed to be released isn't good enough now?

Not at all, I wouldn't stop using TGC or Simply if they didn't deliver early, especially Simply who I've used since the Dreamcast days. So hopefully people wouldn't complain too much like they have in the past. But I do use them knowing I'd have the chance to be playing the weekend earlier on Tuesday releases, that's for sure. Even if they were a couple of quid more than someone else.

Returns and cancellations are usually fine, it's not really that what I'm referring to when I'm on about their customer support.

I mean other kinds of issues, like faulty products, missing items, or other such stuff. More complicated problems basically. It can take forever to get anything sorted.

I had no idea Simply have been around that long. Really surprised at that. Were they the first real video game retailer online? I am just abit too young to know about that stuff.

But yeah, Simply are the place for new releases right now. Shopto is too hit and miss now and TGC very occasionally misses out on early delivery (FFXV). When there are options to get a game days early, getting on release day just isn't good enough for me.

Yeah, that's why everyone is annoyed they didn't get it Valentine's Day /s

I mean if people want to risk it and go with other people if they want it before it releases, but I'm fine over here with Amazon Prime giving it to me on the launch day
but if you ain't prime good luck getting it the day after

Pretty much. Online retailers were so niche that I mentioned earlier that I got a Dreamcast the year they were released for £199.99 with 10 £5 off vouchers for pre-orders which were priced at £29.99 anyway.

Before that, I used Special Reserve for Amiga/SNES/Mega Drive-PS1/N64 era. Got a catalogue in the mail and just bought games that way for cheap compared to GAME/Electronics Boutique and then got my games on the Wednesday before Friday. Got my Smackdown 2 PS1 birthday present a couple of days before my birthday party with my multitap. I was so cool....

EDIT: Think my dad got my PS2 Christmas present from Simply Games too. I came home early from college and caught him trying it out with the first Pro Evolution Soccer which was a deal I pointed out on Simply (as an ISS Pro fan) and was marvelling at how Alan Smith for Leeds looked like he should thinking it was amazing.

My Persona Take Your Heart arrived yesterday courtesy of Zavvi, discount code successful. Think it was about £67. Only problem was not being able to change addresses after ordering (way back in August) - it's at my dad's, 200 miles away! Ah well. I'm impressed by Zavvi for once, so that's worth it.

London Gaming Market is wayyy busy. Last hour was okay, but most of the time i was just glancing at things and trying to stay out of everyone's way.

Picked up a grape N64 in great condition, Conker on xbox, and a copy of Wetrix on n64 because i like that dumb game for some reason.

This is the first time I'm hearing of this. Looks pretty cool, I think I'll try to go to the next one!

What did you think of the prices, overall? Were the games and merchandise overpriced?

Sounds interesting, how much did you pay for it?

It bothers me that they charge you £5 to enter -____- and for the pictures, it was way too crowded, I will try to go to the next one.

Ended up paying £32 for the steelbook version of P5 thanks to the £10 off a £50 spend Amazon promo a few months back. Not bad.

Starting to think my P5 CE won't come today. Got the text on Saturday saying DPD would deliver it today but the status isn't saying it's out of delivery. I've never had anything from them leave the depot later than 9.00am.

I had that once, it came around 4pm whereas I normally get stuff 11am-1pm. It left their depot around 12-1.

Any one with insider info know if Tesco in store will be stocking Persona 5 tomorrow? and the price. I asked on twitter and they said they were unable to find out.

Anybody had their shopto copy arrive today? Mine dispatched Saturday and I won't be home until 5 to check but really hoping it might be there.

Dues ex is ridiculous cheap on base.com, don't think it was lower
£10.85

http://www.base.com/buy/product/deus-ex-mankind-divided-day-one-edition-ps4/dgc-deexmdps4.htm

The x1 version is £8.75.

I got my copy of persona5 today, from ups (from amazon.com) the box is broken =(, but i will not complain :)

That sucks. :(

It does, but it's free man.. I would not go to amazon and ask for more compensation, lol , it's UPS fault ¬¬, one of the corner of the box is teared, obviously for it being shaked too much in a bigger box.
Or maybe it was Morgana trying to get out ¿?, anyway, I'm happy it's here =D .

My copy arrived this afternoon.

If Tesco aren't stocking it you could always go to Argos. It's £43.99 there.

Yeah my copy didn't turn up. Can't complain too much because they're still delivering on launch day but for sure will be the last time I use shopTo for Tuesday releases.

I spoke to Direct last week who then spoke to their supplier and they said they won't be stocking it. I'm not sure whether this has changed since or will be different in store but it currently seems highly unlikely.

Argos said on Twitter that their stores won't be getting any copies either.

EDIT

...although apparently they lied since it's listed now. Doesn't say anything about the steel book or not though.

Grape coloured N64 with cables matching controller was £60. Both in great condition - i wouldnt have been able to save much online with the effort i would have been willing to make. Conker was a tenner, and other stalls there had it for £15 and £20 so it is occasionally worth looking around.

It is crowded until like 1430. I won't turn up until 1400 next time. It is only £2 after midday; early bird is a fiver.

Prices were generally above average but very little of it was priced ridiculously, just the rare stuff. I didn't look at any merch so dunno about that.

What a fucking mess I've gotten myself into.

Initially I had ordered P5 TyH from amazon.de but then it became available on amazon.fr for much cheaper (over 20 euro difference) so I ordered there.
I forgot to cancel with amazon.de.
I want to return the amazon.de order but here's the kicker: while they have already sent theirs, the one from amazon.fr is still pending, it has been on preparing for dispatch for more than 30 hours now.

I don't want to keep the more expensive order but if it arrives sooner I wont resist opening it. Fucking hell, what in the world is going on with amazon.fr?

BTW, I've never used amazon's return service, any idea how much it will cost me to return this? I'm assuming they will charge me shipping from Portugal to France.

Sorry for another Persona 5 post but today has reminded me why I stopped using Amazon for pre-orders.

Release day, still no delivery, yet my Orders page on Amazon says the item was delivered at 12.43 and both Amazon & Royal Mail signed off on it. I've been in all day, Royal Mail delivered my regular post but nothing else. Whilst it's annoying that a "release day delivery" option doesn't guarantee delivery from them, I'm actually bothered by the fact they sign it off as delivered.

I don't know how Amazon got so bad, so quick. Their delivery for non-gaming stuff is even worse - I had to wait 12 days for a ruler and pens last month.

If Royal Mail say they delivered your game, why is that amazon's fault?

It's not but I'm being left out of the loop on both ends by Amazon just saying the item has been delivered. Additionally, these problems always occur with Amazon but not other retailers, somehow. Despite other retailers using the same delivery/courier services.

I've experienced a range: RM, Yodel (all-round trash), DPD and UPS - a variety of retailers use those services yet whenever I order from Amazon, they're the ones who give me the delivery estimates that are between 2 and 13 days, including these further issues.

It was less of a complaint about Persona 5 not getting here and more just Amazon in general.
