Due to a certain conversation in the 'Rumor: New NDS colors' topic, I decided to create a new topic about the 'Customizing your GBA' subject things were going (slightly) towards.

First some imagery, mine and the one from a female friend. Who happens to be the girlfriend of the person who did this.

Now, what do you need to have when wanting to switch... First, you need the GBA opening tool , which is an adjusted screwdriver and can also be used for the Nintendo DS (should the need arrive in the future). Note: Be very careful with the piece of foil that connects the motherboard with the screen, screw this up and your system becomes useless. Also, be careful with the very light start and select buttons, since you can easily lose them.

On the topsides of the screen are small rubber buttons, you can easily remove them with a needle, just flip them out. Careful not to lose them though.

Second thing is a Philips-head screwdriver, since that's the standard the internal screws are comprised of.

Now, the third thing you need is guts..... :D

That's about it, if I get any new info I'll edit this post. So be sure to check back later on, I'll also answer any further questions and add them and their answers to the first one.

That black/platinum one looks ace as fuck. *swoon*

So, I guess you've gotta get a second GBA SP to do this though...unless they sell replacement/mod casing for GBA SPs. Do they make/sell those anywhere? I'd love to retrofit my cobalt SP with some new casing...

As far as I know they don't sell them seperately, but maybe there are some places who carry them like they did the PSOne (older bigger model) and PS2 (older bigger model) cases.

I would like a GBA-SP in an original GB case because the controls are better on it.

And I would like an original GB with a backlight mod, (white leds?)

That's pretty hot. The limited mixed silver and black SP wasn't like this right? It was an entire black top and the whole bottom was silver?
