I love Chicago Deep Dish pizza. Gino's East just opened up in the Houston area. I want to try it out this Christmas. Any suggestions?

My brother prefers Giordano's but I have not tried either.

Houston also got Grimaldi's of Brooklyn but I think it's vastly overrated. Maybe it's just a preference.

+1 for Lou Malnatti's as the best. Then Giordano's, then Gino's. Any of the three are worth checking out to see whether or not you agree with that ranking, though!

If you're on the northside, hit up Pequod's and try their deep dish. Probably my favorite, but Lou's is a close second.

Edit: You're not actually in Chicago, I'm an idiot: Gino's East is still a fine pizza.

Gino's East and Giordano's are what I usually get when I visit Chicago and both are pretty great. Funny thing, I just picked up a frozen Gino's East pizza at the store here in Ohio and I'm quite curious how it holds up.

It's fine. Giordano's too.

Lou Malnati's is best for deep dish if we're talking chains.

However, I prefer thin crust.

You're a monster. I love thin crust, but finding a solid deep dish or stuffed pizza in our area is impossible.

Thin crust is a Chicago-style too.

However, my favorite kind of pizza is Detroit-style.

It's just easier for you to get thin crust outside of Chicago. Hell, I can walk about 50ft and get a Chicago-style thin crust, but I'm not sure where the closest place is to get a stuffed pizza.

I've never had a good Detroit-style before. I'm just not a fan.

I thought it was pretty good, but I'm not from Chicago.

It made me sad coming back home to Oklahoma though. I don't know how wide spread Old Chicago chains are but it is the silliest restaurant ever to me now.

Lou's is better.

It does excite me that Gino's seems to be expanding I'd love to have one in Cincy. I really miss Chicago Pizza.

Thin crust is a Chicago-style too.

Had an amazing Detroit style pizza in Telluride. Ricotta, garlic, genoa salami, red Calabrian chili peppers, sweet piquante peppers, fresh basil, arugula, and extra virgin olive oil. The 313.
