System 246 isn't even shared, it's all Namco's. Does Sega have to share some degree of revenue from TriForce games with Nintendo and Namco though?MrSingh said:Triforce and System 246 designs are shared with other companies.

Definite yes to the first question, and I'm pretty sure that Sega created the format much the same way Nintendo created the GC discs.FortNinety said:Question: is the GD-ROM that is used the game format as the Dreamcast's? Did Sega create the format in the first place?
GD-ROM was developed by Yamaha for Sega. It's used in Dreamcast, Naomi, Naomi 2, TriForce anbd Chihiro platforms. GOD (GameCube Optical Disc) was developed by Matsushita for Nintendo.BuddyChrist83 said:Definite yes to the first question, and I'm pretty sure that Sega created the format much the same way Nintendo created the GC discs.

Q: What exactly is Chihiro?
A: An XBox with GD-ROM connector and more optional RAM. That's it.

Chihiro is an XB with more RAM, just as the ST-V is a Saturn with more RAM, just as NAOMI is a Dreamcast with more RAM. There's nothing surprising about this at all.
That it won't sell. Not that that has stopped them in the past.Vagabond said:What's Sega's excuse for not making Ollie King for the Xbox now?
