Makes you wonder what the CIA is doing right now.
"Protecting" "America's" "National Security". I think the problem is that the CIA does not have enough Congressional oversight, so that the legitimate operations they do are often overshadowed by the seemingly unnecessary and more disconcerting ones.

It used to be that we overlooked the CIA's transgressions because they did them outside our borders. But seriously, do people that work at the CIA not think they're working for an evil organization?

people just need to remember that CIA thinks of itself as a bunch of master manipulators but are really just a bunch of morons that are going around fucking up shit for everyone.

then extrapolate from that how they might be doing that in relation to world events and you'll get an accurate picture of what they might be doing. for example, aiding russia in invading Ukraine? not inconceivable. arming ISIS? certainly possible.

How would helping Russia invade Ukraine or arming ISIS advance US interests?

well that escalated quickly

CIA is simple to work out. They have a hard on for creating conflicts all the time. They thrive during escalation. There's not one instance where CIA defused a potential war-breaking scenario.

Wait, so what does this mean? That the CIA was providing fake evidence to IAEA?

Sounds like entrapment. They approached Iran with plans for weapons and material to test their motives.

Of course International politics isn't a court of law. Shady tactics don't get evidence thrown out.

How would you know exactly if they defused anything?

for the sake of argument, remember that ISIS was one of many organizations fighting the Syrian government.

and then making Russia look like a credible threat to eastern europe is another thing that they probably wouldn't mind seeing pushed along (though I admit that one's a bit more of a stretch)

i'm not saying the CIA created these conflicts, just that they likely don't have a problem being involved in them in a shady or ultimately counter-productive manner.

The stuff that governments are doing behind the scenes is probably crazy, messed up, and scary

And we will never know a lot of it. Makes you wonder like you said

What's funny is, if you would have said 5 years ago the US spies on your phone calls, your phone GPS, reads your emails and texts, forces companies to give up all their information on you, hacks every major world leaders phone, the phones of corporate executives in other countries tries and has the most prolific cyberhacking going on, people would have called you a conspiracy theorist nutjob. But it turned out to be true.

The NSA/CIA even started to intercept shipments of laptops to put surveillance software or others things inside to spy. They got Microsoft and Apple and Google to share so much data, they use your phones GPS to track your movements etc.
