Cirque Du Soleil: Mystere - Final Judgement

Just returned from Vegas and saw Mystere at Treasure Island. My GF and I had excellent seats at 3rd row center. How we managed to get these I don't know as we just went to the box office the day before the show and asked for availability.

Amazing show and certainly the best live performance I've ever seen. They manage to blend comedy and action incredibly well and always have something to attract your attention. How they design and choreograph a show like this is beyond me.

All the performers are lean and ripped and mime their respective roles incredibly well. Animators would do well checking out how these people act like children, birds, lizards, and creatures undefineable.

Sequences like the man-baby had the entire theater in fits of laughter while others such as the steel cube had the theater gasping. The somewhat homoerotic 2 stongmen section was pretty incredible though I have seen similar and in some ways more impressive feats of balance and strength at the Tropicana in Cuba.

The effects, sound, costumes, and music are all top notch. There is so much design brilliance in the show it is hard to describe.

10/10 and if you are heading to Vegas I highly recommend a viewing.

On a side note, I wouldn't be surprised if the inspiration for the Pikmin comes from Mystere. There are 2 costumes in particular that look extremely Pikmin-esque.

I may be biased because Mystere was my first Cirque du Soleil show, but it's my favorite out of the ones I've seen. It was so long ago that I actually don't remember most of what happened, but I do remember it was an incredible experience. I do have the soundtrack which I listen to from time to time, which is incredible also. :)

I've been to a bunch at this point, and my favorite was Dralion. It was my first, so it was just that much more amazing. By the time I saw Mystere, I'd been through Dralion, Quidam, Alegria, and La Nouba, so it wasn't quite as thrilling as the others. Mrs. Speshylives liked Alegria the best because of the music.

I haven't seen Mystere or O or the new "adult" Cirque they have in Vegas, but I've seen all the others including La Nouba in Florida (well, Saltimbanco I only saw on TV). Alegria does have great music, but Dralion is still my (and my wife's) favorite, by far. Best acts, best costumes, excellent music. Of the traveling shows, Varekai to me seems to be the weakest.

I've only seen part of one on a tape before (I liked it, more than I thought I would), and Dralion later on in person. (But this is Columbus, OH, so they obviously didn't have it quite as showy/polished as they probably do in some of the more major cities. It was still good, though.)

Eh? This I have to ask about. (I'd considered the possibility vaguely before, but didn't think they were doing anything more risqué than their normal family shows.)

Edit: Nevermind Google is my friend.

My edit was too late, but thanks for answering anyway. Sounds like an interesting attempt, but that some sequences might be slightly cringe-worthy, unless they pull them off quite well.

Has anyone been to the typical Vegas titty shows? Just curious as to what they are like.

I went to one as part of a bachelor party once. Remember the scene in National Lampoon's European Vacation, where Chevy Chase and Beverly DiAngelo are in France and they go to see that topless cabaret show? It was pretty much like that. It had teh boobies, but it was really pretty stupid.

So Far I have Only seen Ezuru,Alegria.I liked them both for diffrent reasons. Alegria for the music and Ezuru, for the fights and the forbidden love. I love these show, cant wait to see Mystere.

I remember seeing them when I was a kid when they were small time, the show I went to see was in a mall parket lot :lol
