Citicard holders, is the Credit Protector program worth it?

I'm just curious if anybody has used or not used this service.

I'm paranoid by nature, so I got roped into signing up for it a few years ago; and now that I'm trying to consolidate debt (CC being your only safety net during bouts of unemployment is a sure fire way to assfuck yourself) - and seeing as how they're now advertising a similar service (Citi® Identity Theft Solutions)for free, that $420 a year I'm throwing at this "service" is starting to look less appealing. I'd rather have that additional money being ticked off of my overall debt.

Input please.

Thanks.

Not a fan of it myself - I'd recommend it only to people who think they are at risk of losing their job (and I'd say sign up for it at that point).

Not sure about Citicard, but my Amazon VISA with Chase has some Payment Protector program.

It's 89 cents per $100 of your monthly balance. Since I pay in full a day or two before my statement, I always pay nothing, or if some minor charges slip through between that payment date and statement day, under $1.

So for me, yeah, I think it's worth it.

If I had a monthly balance of like $500 or more though every month, then no, I wouldn't have it unless, like Pheonix said, I thought I was at risk of losing my job or something.
