Classic games with bad translation (japanese to english)

Looking back at some classic Nintendo games, the English is really horrendous. Zelda 1, Zelda 2 and Goonies 2 are good examples of this. :lol

Post your classic moments, and please use pics if you can. Here is mine.

It's amazing how much better the localization is today than 10-15 years ago.

My favorite translation comes from Super Runabout: The San Francisco edition:

"The Poor have no leisure!"

and

"Bad news has wings."

FFVII and FFT (stfu, it's been seven years)

In fact, pretty much every FF until VIII, actually

FFVI/III actually had a pretty good translation for the most part.

My vote goes to the SNES Tecmo classic, Secret of the Stars.

And my personal favorite:

Breath of Fire II

Great game marred by a dreadful translation. Possibly the first controversial "God = death" religion fiasco that seemingly flew over many heads.

Yeah, Capcom got away with a hell of a lot with BoF II. How is that?

FWIW, "I am Error" is a perfectly OK translation. I think he literally says "My name is Error," but still. Can't fault them for THAT one... :) It just sounds funny...

well, i think they should have changed his name then. or translated it as "my name is error." it's a bad translation anyway you look at it, since it's so confusing.

he says "ore no na wa eraa da." btw. =)
