Kevin Smith goes “Back to the Well”

:lol

At least it seems he has finally come to terms with the reality that he sucks at everything movie related except the same old Jersey stoners formula.

I look forward to even more Stars Wars and comic book jokes & references.

That was the dumbest, most pointless trailer i've ever seen in my life. Why make a trailer at all if it's only gonna have footage from part 1?

Anyway, as long as they bring back Randall I'll be happy.

Not a diehard fan, but a fan. It's just annoying to see the first post be a lame ass whining about the whole point of the thread. You want to bitch about his writing, start a thread about it and moan away. Otherwise, how about keeping it to yourself.

Jersey Girl bombed pretty hard.

As far as it being old news, I dunno. People knew he was making clerks 2, but this is the first footage I've heard of. Well, kind of footage.

Ugh, Jersey Girl was terrible. I couldn't even get through the first 45 minutes. Then again, that may be due to my aversion to pretty much anything involving children though.

Either way, I'm glad he's returning to the View Askew universe.

Also, on a somewhat related note, has anyone else watched that Evening with Kevin Smith documentary? They've shown it a few times recently on one of the cable movie channels and I've really enjoyed it. It's basically five hours of footage from Smith's college tour speaking performances. That probably sounds awful but it's incredibly entertaining. That motherfucker can tell a tale.

I'm sick of the passion jokes. It was worn out and old back when Family Guy based it's first new episode on it. Now it's just ridiculous.

Of all the criticisms you want to make of Kevin Smith, assualting his dialogue is probably the worst angle you could go for.

Thanks for the link - downloading it now

I really like his films (more than most people) but some of his dialogue is awful. If it's not the dialogue then something else is to blame (either the cast or the direction). Mallrats has some lines that are just cringe-worthy

I'm a fan of Kevin Smith, and think that Clerks is probably his best film. Not sure we need a sequel though, but i admit I'm intriqued to know where he's going to go with these guys.

Sorry, but if you're going to attack Kevin Smith, the best tact for you to take would be his servicable yet sub-par direction, and wonky pacing. The man's dialogue is spotless. See: Green Arrow and Daredevil runs.

I still maintain that if we pushed Joss WHedon and Kevin smith into a blender, we'd get back one outstanding film maker... or a bunch of idiosynchratic quirks so concentrated that it would collapse inward on itself creating a snarky comment singularity and murdering the world.

The special was great, the Prince stuff made it godly. He needs to take all that material and make it into a movie. Dave Chappelle+Kevin Smith = Heaven!

We sure don't if it's gonna be all cheesy and commercial like J&SB was. Even though I liked that movie, using that mainstream formula for Clerks would be stupid.

No, the Superman story is the best...

"Wait...who the fuck's Kal-El?"
