30%? Holy shit. I assume (hope) that like a lot of places the more affluent middle classes just fled the city proper and moved to leech-like bedroom communities. Why is all of Ohio so far above the national average? (I've never been there, don't know anything about it)

I dunno. Our Mayor is retarded. Everyone hates her.

Also, like some other cities we were pretty big on steel but ya know how that all flew. Our steel industry just couldnt compete with the likes of other countries such as Japan and Germany(?) for more then one reason.

I went to Cleveland and it reminded me a *LOT* of Buffalo if Buffalo had twice as many people in it... The downtown area was nice but the city proper definitely looked run down... surprised that Detroit isn't the most poverty stricken city, based on everything I've read of it, it sounds horrible.

Everyone in Detroit who doesnt have a job is a drug dealer. Everyone in Cleveland who doesnt have a job is to lazy or to old to be a drug dealer, and the druggies just import their drugs from Detroit because of the close proximity which gives our money to them. Cleveland Poverty >>> Detroit Poverty

Detroit might have an uneployment rate high and looks poor, parts of it. But when I was down there everyone was driving an H2 with chrome spinners and 30 inch wheels. Where's the poverty? You live in a trailer but you drive something you might as well live in, who cares about your trailer parks.

Also, Ohio doesnt have any Casinos, and since everyone in Ohio likes to gamble away their $5.15 minimum wage paychecks they take that money out of state to do so.

I lived in Cleveland Heights as a kid, I never really got to see the real city though. Damn, 30% is just crazy...

I live in one of the new home development communities (moved four years ago); off of Kinsman and MLK Drive. I used to live on 147th.

But yeah, our city sucks. I love our downtown, though. :)
