Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival - Official Red Band Announcement Trailer

I'm guessing Clive Barker doesn't have a hand in this, but it's from Saber so could end up good.
I'm sure he didn't write it, but at least he was somewhat involved!
Speaking of the story, we have been greatly privileged to consult with Clive Barker himself to make sure this new chapter in the Hellraiser storyline is authentic to the vision of his iconic Hellraiser films.

He's been a lot more involved with the franchise since he got the rights back. He was involved in the 2022 remake too, and was producing a tv show too, and it seems he's got a hand on this in some way.

Fucking FINALLY!

Never seen any of the films, but seems interesting. And gruesome.
I'd highly recommend the first 2 films.

The first was directed by the author of the book, and he wrote the story for the second one as well, which was a direct continuation and expands on the lore.

Looks like the game is heavily inspired by the second movie too.

Never watched the movies so there's no hype for me. I love horror games but until I see the gameplay loop this is just shock value without substance.

Video is NSFW for those that care.
Still not sure how this game will work within the premise of Hellraiser, which is not really an action franchise. Guess you will be battling through the Hellraiser dimension?
Visuals do look suitably disturbing - hope they can pull it off.

Yeah dude, I hovered over it with an intern standing behind me thankfully and saw the bits.

Whoa. I wish I was a bigger hellraiser fan cause that looks crazy on a great way. Loved the last movie on Hulu but re and silent hill are as far as I can go with the scary in video games!

Angry, it's immersion breaking due to the animations not because it's sex, heck, it looks like 2 animatronics/dolls trying to imitate having sex...
I mean, in some games it's already immersion breaking when characters kiss due to the animations (hence why most of the times camera switches to another angle).
So you expect some kind of Naughty Dog levels of character animation on AA games?

It's a video game, not a movie. There's some work there for the brain to do in order to suspend belief. Character models and animation looked pretty fucking good to me at least from the trailer.

As a lover of Hellraiser, I can tell you this looks like it's a 1:1 movie transition. Cenobites. Sex. Pain. Gore.

That is what Hellraiser is all about. I highly suggest watching at least the first 2 movies.

Seems like someone finally looked over at what those Robocop and Terminator guys were doing and thought, "hey instead of turning all of these amazing horror movie franchises into garbage asymmetrical multiplayer games that nobody really wants, maybe we just...do what they (Teyon/Nacon) are doing?"

Annnnd I am absolutely here for it! I've been saying it for years, and I'm probably in every thread around here involving those asymetrical mp games bitching about how I wish they were single player, haha. And I play a shitload of multiplayer games...they just never felt right, except for Friday The 13th. That one made sense. And I was an Evolve fan, so I don't even hate the subgenre. These horror movie franchises, Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. would just make for really great single player games if done right.

Give me allll the AA single player games involving classic horror movies!
I talked about and thought of how cool a single player Silent Hill-esque Hellraiser game would be pretty damn recently with one of my friends, so I was genuinely shocked to see this trailer.

I'm just gonna pretend I spoke this into existence, haha.
I've always wanted a Phantasm game. Open world. Chase The Tall Man around his apocalyptic madness. Give us the 'Cuda and let us upgrade it. :messenger_winking:
