The Nintendo Museum in Kyoto has set up a small exhibit showing off the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch 2 Camera, Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, and physical game cases for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

The photo below gives a rough idea on how big they are:

This closeup photo gives us a first look at the right side of the Nintendo Switch 2 game cases for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. As you can tell, the game art is wrapped around the box.

While it's hard to tell how big the game cases are, the photographer, who has seen it in real life, confirmed in a Twitter post that they are "slightly larger than" Nintendo Switch game cases.

The art wrapping round to the spine is good. Would prefer the red at the top to be thinner or to just put the switch 2 logo in a box like the current switch cases.

Better logo would be Switch 2 in both big number/letters next to eachother then the logo next before or after it

You're onto something. When the PS2 launched there was widespread confusion among parents and grand parents about the sudden explosion in dual player games. This has only gotten worse with the PS3, PS4 and PS5. Fans of single player games didn't know why all of their favorite IPs suddenly went multiplayer. Game sales imploded, the gaming business never really recovered from this branding mistake.

The OCD crowd is going to absolutely hate this. No uniformity at all with spines. Seems Nintendo is really going all out to completely separate and distinguish Switch 1 from Switch 2.

They look nice, but I don't know why they had to make them larger. The Switch cases (which are already too large for that they contain) are a nice size. Probably to make them different from original Switch cases at a glance I guess.

I think the general design and branding of the console is kinda good-looking.

Nintendo has always excelled at market execution tbh. Even the Wii U had good store branding for its games imo.

They still look awful. That large space above is odd. Why is the logo followed by "2," then "Nintendo Switch" below? That's repetitive. "Nintendo Switch" should be on the right or left to fill that empty space.

To be fair,I see where he's coming with this. The 2 is above the Nintendo Switch name. For us it might not be confusing but for the dumb general population who knows.

That top red part is far too big. Reduce it by even a third and it looks far better.

Looks good, although the Switch 1 games are nice since they're all (more or less) solid red with white text. Makes them line up nice on a shelf, but it's not a huge deal since this makes them more like PlayStation has been doing since forever. The red plastic is a nice touch.

I can't really tell the size of these, compared to the Switch 1 cases. They look to be about the same size. They definitely don't look like Blu-ray case size, as one of the leaks suggested.

I still think the cases are massive. The 3DS cases were chunky and smaller. But still not a good form factor. Am sure they could save so much money in plastic

The only reason for the size is to match the tablet.

Switch 1 cases matched the Switch 1 tablet shaper and size, Switch 2 does the same.

Thank fucking God! I am a physical bro all the way, and these look so damn much better than those mockups I saw in a thread the other day. I actually like that the artwork wraps onto the spine of the case. This is a big sigh of relief for me lol.
