Code Age Commanders scans

After playing nothing but Half-life 2 at near-max settings all this week and last, now that I've beaten the game, every other game I look at looks like utter shit. =*(

Half Life 2 did nothing for me. The last stage was awesome but that's it.

Ending sucked ass, too much loading, game itself is scripted and has no replay value. Counter Strike and HL2 death match suck. Steam was a complete waste of $60 for me.

I think the reason the game had such a profound effect on me is because I never had a decent video card before. The last "pretty" game I played before HL2 was Metroid Prime I believe.

I have been playing pretty looking PC games for a while but I still prefer the stuff on PS2. My favorite PC game is Battlefield 1942 (multi) and Chronicles of Riddick (single player) and that's it. After getting my Radeon 9800 Pro I thought I would become a graphics whore and sell my PS2 :lol but that didn't happen.

I just don’t understand graphics whorism.

Looks like fun, though 'Code Age Commanders' sounds like a cheesy cartoon from the GI Joe era. If it heads Stateside, I hope it picks up a better title en route.

I thought this was going to look disappinting, like some game tailored for kids after hearing the name. Square had a big opportunity to disappoint the hell out of me, and fortunately, they've failed to do that so far. Art-wise, the game looks very good actually. The characters aren't extra cute with huge eyes, and although the backgrounds are a bit bland, I'm sure they'll look better by the time the game is finished. I just hope the battle system doesn't suck.

I might be in the minority, but I actually like a few of these character designs a lot. In the third scan I'm really diggin' that chick with the red hair and the one in the pic next to her with the short hair. On the other hand, there's some rather ugly designs too.

Looks decent. Will be interesting to see Square Enix delve into a somewhat "original" IP, something to my knowledge hasn't happened at all this gen bar Kingdom Hearts and even then it's pushing the envelope.

Radiata Stories isn't new? I truthfully don't know.

Well I was going to simply say Square, but then the rabid fans would maul me by saying "IT'S SQUENIX NOW!"

This game looks really cool and is an original IP. Why the hate?

Have you seen SE's tracklist for action-rpgs this gen?

--Musashi 2
--Drag on Dragoon
--The Bouncer
--Kingdom Hearts

So it's kinda hard to get excited as it seems like one of their 'lower budget' productions (at least KH was pretty high budget). I mean just compare the in-game visuals to the Grandia III visuals. The twisty hair shit is kinda unsettling too :(
