Once I figured out the reason I was using social media it become easy or almost effortless to quit using it. The mental work to get to that point took a couple of years though.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Don't really use them, I only open FB these days to click like on people wishing me a happy birthday and that's it.
Oh and I'll probably post a comment to something on twitter if I can't resist telling someone how dumb they are.
