Listening to the last PS I Love You podcast where he acted like it's ridiculous for people to be offended by Native American Halloween costumes really irritated me. Wonder if he feels similarly about wearing black face on Halloween. Or if he would wear such a costume if he would actually be around the people whose culture he's stereotyping.

This departure is still surprising to me nonetheless. With him starting his new segment on KF recently and no sort of indication on the XOXO podcast, really doesn't seem like this was a planned move.

This is absolutely nuts to me. I've been listening to Colin and Greg since I was in high school, and I've been out of college for like 2 years now. I could totally see him falling out for months now as he's been around less and seemed less invested than when they first started. But damn. I feel a little lost lol.

Yep. I miss Beyond! Those times are gone though.

Man, shit...I'm really going to miss his candid discussions about all topics related to Gaming. He and Greg have a great rapport that I've enjoyed since Beyond.

Didn't always agree with Colin, but I respect him as a games journalist/advocate/evangelist.

Maybe he doesn't realize March 8 was National Women's Day? That's the only thing I can think of.

The fact that it was National Women's Day and women were taking the day off work was the entire fucking joke. That joke doesn't work on any other day. Like seriously WTF people? You really feel the need to bend over backwards like this and defy all logic to defend some shitty joke?

Is there an international mens day? I must have missed it I was too busy watching White Entertainment Television.

Jokes are ok only if its about white people and men.

Especially white men i guess.

Cant make jokes about anybody else or you are spreading "hate".

Hahaha

I liked Colin on ign and I was around during the start of kinda funny, I liked him a lot then and it sounds like either his worldview has skewed or he's become more vocal about his beliefs

Sucks we lost that great games journalist but I can't say I'm heartbroken to hear about this based on everything that's happened with him

I can't believe he got fired and punched in the knee for that one single tweet and nothing else. Incredibly how one tweet, and absolutely nothing else, can lead to this. Almost makes you think "There has to be more to this than one tweet" but nope it's just that tweet, nothing else. I think Greg even yelled "That's what you get for that one tweet and nothing else!" after he punched him in the knee.

SJWs attacking over a tasteless joke is way worse than the joke itself. I agree with a lot of his political views lately, but that getting into the way of gaming discussions turned me off of KF.

As many have said before, Greg/Colin/Clements/Goldfarb is god-tier podcasting. But I guess I have to follow through and see where Kinda Funny goes next. I've been meaning to increase my funding to get the podcasts early and decided to finally do it now, as I feel this company that I love needs my support now more than ever. (Side bar: as well as finally funding Easy Allies and Comedy Button)

I can't believe how he got on Glenn Beck's show because of a single joke tweet and nothing else at all

No, because men aren't an oppressed group in society. Also every day is 'International Men's Day', and has been for basically all of human civilization. It's called Patriarchy.
Aww yeah, now we're getting into the real shit

(Actually there is a real International Men's Day tho, it's in November or something.)

Uh...

It's one day a year that's nationally recognized as "National Women's Day" and he posts that...

Even as a joke, it's in very poor taste.

but I mean thats the point of the joke, it doesn't work on any other day, especially without the hastag. I agree that its not really funny, but I just don't understand the outrage, even in context.

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh

You're doing this on purpose so there's no point to what's about to be said, but really man, the point to all these comments were painfully obvious.

That's really bad news for me.. Colin was the main reason I watched KFG. I agreed with alot of his opinions. I like Greg and Tim but not as much as I like Colin.

Whatever he does, I will check it out but if its not gaming I'm not sure I will be following him as much.

Paraphrase.
"Please someone think of the white men [and ignore the content and context of the post I quoted."

Your agenda is showing.

Wow. Step away from Gaf from a few hours to play Horizon and this happens. I stopped consuming anything KF related months ago because of Colin, but with him leaving I look forward to checking out what they do now. Hopefully, the person they hire (assuming they hire anyone to fill the empty spot) will be someone they won't have to issue apology statements for what said person wrote on social media.

Dude rubbed me the wrong way ever since that embarassing ign Mass Effect 3 video where he claimed the reception to the ending was due to entitled gamers....rather than just being one of the worst conclusions in all of fiction.

Glad he's getting out of there, I actually like Greg so I might start tuning in now.

I've followed Colin for a bit and you could see his level of enthusiasm going down, week by week. His tweet, although a joke, was stupidly timed. The fact that it escalated to the point where Kinda Funny members, former IGN colleagues and his girlfriend got involved is unfortunate.

I will say this about Colin: he does his homework when he wants to and can have great conversation when he wants to but his attitude and ego need work. When he was on the Rubin show, he was all smiles and enthusiasm and when someone of high status in the gaming industry would compliment him on his latest 'Colin is Right', he would be quick to retweet or respond with appreciation. Yet when it came to talking with his fans, he was stoic and disinterested. it was time for him to go. I wish him luck, however.

He seemed to be running on fumes, tbh. He tweeted more than once that he wished he was on vacation. Can't help but feel he has some contempt for the fans at times.

I firmly believe there is no need to apologize for such a joke. As there wouldn't be if the tables were turned. If he has made any sexist comments which represent his beliefs or actually advocates any sexist beliefs I would like to hear them.

I wasn't referring just to sexism, but he has displayed this kind of behavior in the past.

For example:

Jon Tron too. It's like they had a convention or something. PDP and Colin aren't half as bad as Jon Tron was last night though. Not yet anyway.
oh yeah, that dude too

Man, maybe Colin will go to YouTube so I can hate YouTube even more than I already do.
