Doesn't Frost still kinda resent Nebraska? I thought the fan base and/or a previous administration left a bad taste in his mouth.
It was a last minute flip, iirc, so I mean, it only really hurts in that he was the only DB in our class last year (because our DB coach Brian Stewart, who's now Rice's DC, fucking sucked at recruiting). In fact, I think Florida stopped going after him hard because they knew his grades were bad. But with the other hits to our secondary and the fact that we're installing a new scheme (moving to a 3-4 under Diaco), it hurts just that little bit more.
But I mean, shit, if you can't get into Nebraska, you're not getting into any P5 school, except maybe a lower tier Big XII school. You were always JuCo bound.

Based on Blades scores he wasn't getting into any P5 school. But it's all due to Brian Stewart checking out on all of his top targets, and Donte Williams not being able to close the gap. DB should be fine in the long-term as long as the team doesn't implode on Riley prior to that.
He was a partial qualifier, but I think those JuCo coaches got into his head and convinced him Nebraska screwed him or something stupid.
Sucks for this year.
And Frost had animosity towards Bo. But they had a bad start to their relationship.
I don't believe Frost has any issues with Eichorst.

Doubt any Bama fan thinks any team not named FSU has a great chance of beating us during the regular season this year (and ion necessarily think FSU does either). Auburn's the only wild card; give Gus a pretty damn good QB and a RB like Pettway, and he'll have a chance. Stidham could be that, and he could not be. Too early to tell. I think they lose too much on defense for that to matter, but them niggas have a way of lucking into shit 🙄 LSU's got the opposite problem, and we get em at home this year, so for once, I'm not remotely worried about them posing a threat.
Ole Miss ain't gonna be able to stop anyone, but their offense is gonna be pretty damn explosive. Throw in the fact they don't have anything to lose this season, and, I'm glad we get em at home, but I'm not really worried about em. Think Mississippi State and Nick Fitzgerald might be fun to watch, but that's it. I like Sumlin, but I don't see how he keeps himself a job this season. Same with Bielema.

I don't think Blades is coming back at all (nor Watts for that matter). I'm not super versed in all the rules and legalities, apparently, Nebraska didn't choose to 'protect' Blades as a prospect whiles he's at Arizona Western CC, so there's a good chance he never comes back even after the 2017 season.
Ah okay. I mean, at some level, you can't hate your alma mater that much, but he was only at Nebraska two years after he transferred from Stanford. And depending on how Riley's tenure ends up, I don't know if he'd even want in this pressure cooker.

you can't officially protect anyone. If you tell the kid hey you won't make it but we'll send you to this school and then in two years you come back, and you give that super talented kid right into the arms of a JuCo, those coaches will tell people off and keep the kid on course to come back to you. But they don't have to, there's no official rules. And Nebraska didn't try to place him because Nebraska believed it was in his best interest to go to Nebraska as a partial qual.
Those JuCo coaches talked a big fucking game for guys that essentially poached the kid from going to a real university with a full academic support structure to help the kid gets where he really wants to go, and as I've heard it, essentially poisoned him against Nebraska.
Frost is from Nebraska, he doesn't hate Nebraska at all. He also, from what I've been told, believes he isn't ready for the job yet. Dude is picking his spots carefully. If he does take Nebraska over, it'll be when the talent bench isn't depleted, which is one of the things Riley is doing really well right now.
the biggest key is the team can't implode this year. Riley can sell a future even at 7-5 or 8-4... but less than that and it'll be rough

It's humorous and sad that some recruits base their announcement date on when their professionally produced 3 to 5 minute long announcement "journey" video is completed. Sounds like thats why Brennan Eagles delayed his announcement.

Opposite directions, but if you want to come hang out in Lincoln, Nebraska, our local semi-pro baseball team is doing a special noon game and they'll pause mid-game so everyone can watch it. I don't have any rooms to rent but hotels in Lincoln are pretty cheap.

Picturing that makes it even more hilarious. Because I've been there. Not with escorts, but just with other stuff that shouldn't be on a work phone. Luckily my work phone now is owned and paid for by me - the university doesn't administer the account. And with a call time of under a minute? He probably realized he fucked up and hung up as fast as possible.
If it was for himself, I'm not sure why that's enough to force a resignation. If it was for recruits, why the hell was he calling himself? Should have had some low level people doing that for him! Maybe he's a micromanager.

Probably because they are trying to head off the worst stuff at the pass to keep it buried and I'm sure the university doesn't want their top employee call hookers on his downtime. That's a PR nightmare.

I found a B&B outside Knoxville that had a few rooms available at their normal rate. I was planning on skipping this one for the 2024 sequel, but when you figure in weather it's always better to have more chances. Plus this one will line up better with work.
