This was a result of having a knockout match with LSU and therefore not getting fully prepared in A WEEK for A&M's scrappiness and a running QB. Give Saban & company a month to prepare for anybody, and Alabama is still easily the best team in the country.

:jnc Because Alabama is the only team given A WEEK to prepare for the next game. hahahahaha

HOpefully this helps to end the myth that SEC defenses are so much better than everyone elses. Oregon would have run a train on Alabama's D. Oregon/K-State is the championship game we all deserve.

went to skyfall instead of watching the game. on a day sam ficken makes 3 fg..we lose by 9 man.. ficken making should be a nc trophy addition or something

Verne is a senile old cook but I like Gary. Him and Todd Blackledge are the best at noticing small details. They are of course both tied at the hip to old nutbags.

Meh, last two times Oregon's faced off against SEC teams, they had trouble going up and down the field.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not get crazy here. It's perfectly fine to still make fun of aTm after this game.

Was Skyfall good?

Kansas State is going to be frothing at the mouth now that they know Bama lost. If TCU can't beat them tonight, I think they lock up a title game spot. Don't see Texas beating them.

They'll have to deal with a media in love with ND and an Oregon team that'll have played one more game then them.

Still a bit premature with so many games left to play, at any rate.

Was '05 the last SEC free MNC game?
Auburn would've stood a better chance than Oklahoma in that game. Jay Ratliff and Quentin Groves were beasts.
You mean when a lower scoring and weaker defense Oregon team lost in the last second by a field goal?
By pretty objectively the worst SEC Champ of the last 6 years going by overall talent -> success in the NFL.

LSU - Oregon was more telling to me last season.

I see SEC team from 4-9 after this... (Assuming the other undefeateds hold serve).

4) Alabama
5) Georgia
6) Florida
7) LSU
8) South Carolina

and we'll probably see aTm jump up to 10th...

Clearly the SEC deserves to be in the MNC with such a pro-level competitive league. Who could possibly expect a team to make it through unscathed... MNC should be SEC champion vs <TBD>

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider

I'm not arguing that the SEC hasn't had the best team in the country, just hope we can drop the narrative that they are so much better top to bottom than every other team. The shitty SEC teams are no better than the shitty Pac 12 teams. Let's stop acting like "running the gauntlet" in the SEC is so grueling because you have to play middling teams every week. Let's stop giving teams "brownie" points because they play in the SEC. It doesn't automatically make you have a great defense, in fact it's quite the opposite, their defenses are inflated because they play so many shit offenses.

Conference defense/bashing is the worst development in sports fandom.

Thanks BCS for bringing out the worst in everyone. Oh, wait, it already happened in college basketball anyways.

Good win for the Pokes, although it was over a WVU team that has obviously been figured out.

Win 2 out of the final 3 (winning in Norman will be hard) to finish 8-4... Not bad considering our youth and injuries at QB.

Well, we all know Notre Dame's going to bend to SC. Kansas is going to randomly poop its pants against Texas. Oregon will wind up in an annual ugly game against either Cal or the Civil War.

Big Bad Saban is coming for you. He gonna find you.

So how much money did A&M potentially cost themselves by beating Alabama? Or is it too soon to think about that?

Have you seen the rankings?? SEC is still going to get two teams into BCS bowls and if the rules would allow, they'd probably get 4 teams in. No money lost there.
