BlueMax breaks down the BCS Top 10

(I did this last year and it pissed everyone off enough that I'm doing it again this year! Suck it!)

ggb.gif
10. Georgia 6-1
Best Win: Vanderbilt 48-3
Loss: #13 South Carolina 35-7
Best Remaining: #2 Florida
Thoughts: Georgia really has no shot at the BCS title game unless a bunch of other teams fall apart. They could mess up the rankings pretty hard this week if they upset the Gators but after that they have 4 straight creampuffs.

uub.gif
9. USC 6-1
Best Win: 27-9 over Cal or 24-14 over UW take your pick
Loss: #17 Stanford 21-14
Best Remaining: #4 Oregon, #5 Notre Dame
Thoughts: For the first time pretty much all season the Trojan passing game looked like what everyone expected. The Downside of course was that the game was against Colorado who kind of sucks. What's worse is the Trojans lost a key starter on the offensive line and replaced him with a freshman (and have no one to replace him with). This week they get a scrappy Arizona team capable of putting up points. The Trojans have to be careful to not look ahead to Oregon, lest they lose again.

ooc.gif
8. Oklahoma 5-1
Best Win: 63-21 over #23 Texas
Loss: 24-19 #3 Kansas State
Best Remaining: #5 Notre Dame, #19 West Virginia
Thoughts: The worst thing that happened this week for Oklahoma is that 3 of their 4 remaining ranked opponents lost and 2 of them dropped out of the BCS rankings. The upside is this week they get a shot at #5 Notre Dame which would give them a HUGE boost. Still, without a K-State loss the Sooners are at best getting an at large.

oof.gif
7. Oregon State 6-0
Best Win: 10-7 over #25 Wisconsin
Best Remaining: #17 Stanford, #4 Oregon
Thoughts: Another week, another win for the Beavers of Corvallis. They may not be the best scoring team in the top 10 (75th in the nation) but they're still finding a way to get it done. This week they travel to Seattle to take on the upset minded Huskies who have already knocked off one superior Pac 12 North foe at home.

lli_2.gif
6. LSU 7-1
Best Win: #13 South Carolina 23-21
Loss: #2 Florida 14-6
Best Remaining: #20 aTm, #1 Alabama, #11 Mississippi State
Thoughts: The Tigers out of Baton Rouge are still terrible at throwing the ball (97 net yards passing on Saturday) but the defense gives them chances to stay in the game (3 interceptions of Manziel, 4.9 yards per pass attempt). While the come from behind win is nice, LSU can't really afford to fall behind too many opponents and expect to win. Luckily they have a week off to figure things out before facing off with #1 Alabama.

nnx.gif
5. Notre Dame 7-0
Best Win: #17 Stanford 20-13 OT
Best Remaining: #8 Oklahoma, #9 USC
Thoughts: There is something absolutely bizarre about a ground oriented Brian Kelly offense, but for whatever reason its working in South Bend. The Irish are 38th in the Nation with 194 yards per game on the ground and had 270 against BYU, and they needed every one of them as they squeaked out a 17-14 win. Notre Dame faces its most difficult challenge yet as a high powered Sooner offense. A win this Saturday might vault them to #2 in the BCS and its hard to see them falling from that spot unless they slip up against USC in the final week of the season.

ooe.gif
4. Oregon 7-0
Best Win: 43-21 over Arizona State
Best Remaining: #9 USC, #17 Stanford, #7 Oregon State
Thoughts: While Ducks fans are probably a bit frustrated after seeing their team win another blow out and drop in the BCS its probably best to relax and remember that the meat of Oregon's schedule is in November. The best thing the Ducks can hope for right now is that USC wins this weekend, and Stanford and Oregon State continue to win prior to their contests with the Ducks. Other than that, they have to hope the grind of the SEC knocks one of the unbeatens off their perch. No worries!

kkb.gif
3. Kansas State 7-0
Best Win: #8 Oklahoma 24-19
Best Remaining: #14 Texas Tech, #23 Texas
Thoughts: I think if there were many questions about Kansas States ability to hang with a supposedly faster and more athletic team they were answered pretty handily in the rout of West Virginia this weekend.
The back half of the schedule got slightly downgraded with 1 of their opponents dropping from the rankings, but still there's enough beef here to give the Wildcats a real shot at the MNC game. That is if they survive this weekend against the surprisingly feisty Texas Tech Red Raiders. Week in and week out baby!

ffa.gif
2. Florida 7-0
Best Win: 14-6 over #6 LSU
Best Remaining: #10 Georgia, #12 Florida State
Thoughts: A week after knocking one SEC team out of the top 10, the Gators get a shot to do the same against Georgia. Gotta love that self perpetuating hype machine! Much like their SEC brethren LSU, the Gators still don't have much in the way of a passing offense netting only 94 yards passing (although they got 4 passing TDs). On the other hand South Carolina was giving them a short field to work with all game, so that probably helped! Georgia is probably the best offense the Gators will face until FSU so if their defense has an off game the Gators could be upset victims, you never know in a rivalry game!

aad_3.gif
1. Alabama 7-0
Best Win: #22 Michigan 41-14
Best Remaining: #11 Mississippi State, #6 LSU, #20 aTm
Thoughts: While Crimson Tide fans will probably try to spin lies about Saturday's "rivalry" game with the Vols as being a tough fought contesnt, dont believe their lies. When you finish with almost double the other teams yards that's usually a good sign of a blow out. It was so lopsided that Alabama's QB threw for an unheard of in the SEC 306 yards. The Crimson Tide now enter their toughest stretch of the season with 3 straight games against teams that are currently ranked. If they can make it through the next 3 unscathed they have 2 straight cup cake weeks before the SEC title game.

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
Also, Bluemax, you owe AJ an apology for your libel Saturday night.

Florida doesn't have the touch? That is too bad. We did play a winless Penn State team a couple of years ago, though.

Fuck Georgia. An upset this week would really ruin the season for everyone. Anyone anti-SEC should definitely be rooting for it. Although Georgia would probably just shit the bed and pave the way to Alabama's MNC in roses.

He looked shaky and then he got a text message alert about me bad mouthing him and decided to tear the Vols a new one.

So I guess he wins.

Surprised that ND didn't jump Oregon in the BCS with how hard the computers get at the thought of them.

The Human polls are the only thing separating the two. Notre Dame has a massive lead in the computers. If Notre Dame wins this weekend it might push them to #2.

Yeah, that song is totally stuck in my head now.

Mission accomplished!

Funny thing is I came up with this idea last night before I fell asleep. Then this morning I couldn't remember what I had decided on, but while I was walking my dog I started thinking about the games and the Heisman and then Collin Klein and then Optimus Klein and then boom! It came back to me.

The only thing missing is a .gif of Fowler and Desmond playing with the Optimus and Megatron figures.

I totally didn't see that before, and I checked twice. Did you ninja me, or did my dogshit internet strike again?

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
Well, Oregon should beat us more soundly than USC.

Florida has a first place vote in the AP poll?

Really?

Someone needs to lose their voting privilege, they are the last team in the top 5 I'd give a first place vote to.

It's this guy:

Doug Lesmerises

Best wins should be #10 Michigan St, #8 Michigan, #8 Stanford, and #25 BYU.
Best Remaining should be #4 Oklahoma, #1 USC.

Because hindsight is 20/20.

This is one of the dumbest things about rankings and polls in midseason. It is impossible to say how many ranked opponents anybody has played until all of the games are done. WVU was ranked both times they got their asses beat. They could easily end the year unranked. Did that mean that Texas Tech beat the 5th ranked team...obviously not.

I'm guessing he didn't actually watch the game. I don't know how you could watch Florida play and say "yep, that's the best team out there."
