whys the first guy just standing there looking at nothing...?

I'm more concerned about why the other guy is staring at the crotch of the guy jumping in the air.

He's wondering if the crowd's so blurry because he partied so hard the night before.

Ahh no, these pics are from replay shots, the depth of field is enabled. That option is given to you when you play NBA 2K6 on 360

i often wondered how college games would be handeled with all the power of the next gen systems. Will developers be allowed to make the "generic" players look just like their real life counterparts, or will the NCAA crack down on that?

It's not major either way...I swear I've got a sight problem but that shit (jaggies) doesn't bother me 90% of the time

It's not just you

Hm, anyway. Looks alright. I'm really more interested in if they capture the college atmosphere, and you gotta play it to know that so..

It's not just you

Anyone with some gaming knowledge would know that this is not the resolution we'll be playing the game at, it's just a promo screen.

Wow, you guys sure adjusted quickly to next gen visuals. "Shit!" "ASS!" "Looks like GARBAGE WRAPPED IN PUKE!" "Testicles!".

Err, you're accusing him of doing something you just did, unless the game is going to run at 740x416. Actually, the promo shot he posted is 720x1280, so at least it has the same number of pixels.

That being said, the image quality is pretty damn fine. I don't see the problem. Graphic wise it seems to have the same pros and cons NBA 2k6 has.

Games. Fun. I don't know.

I know that it was 416, but it was in the same aspect ratio, signifying a shot that you'd see while playing, whereas the funky aspect ratio (prolly 9:16 there) obviously isn't going to play that way.

But you were using it to prove that there's no aliasing.

Downscaling from 720p to 416p is going to hide any possible visual imperfections, so it doesn't make much sense.

Begun this system was has. Wait for CES. It's gonna get all blowed up in here. PEACE.
Yup... and when the PS3 launches here in the States, I forsee lots of hate flying around all over the place. Some people get real fucking hateful too.

I still hate the milky skin tone on the players though. I think it has something to do with a lighting technique they use on the player models... I hate the effect though.

also, and this needs to be pointed out, these are replay shots, which just like in NBA 2k6 on the 360, look a lot better in the replays than it does during actual gameplay.

I doubt they're going to change the nature of these games by zooming in on every one of them.

How do you make a basketball game impress everyone?

Anyone who's actually played a 360 on an HDTV set will know that there are quite a few jaggies noticable in its games. Anyways why are they there if AA is free to the hardware?

well perhaps its not turned up to its max levels? Anyway it doesnt matter curves will always always be estimations when dealing with computers. Besides the few jaggies , alot of the other curved surfaces look just fine and look at those shoes! I mean LOOK at em...

because
1) 2x AA isn't very effective to begin with
2) apparently it isnt very easy to adapt a game engine to the tiling system required for AA at 720p

It depends what games you are playing. NBA 2K6 looks clean to me.
