Anyone know when the first TPB for X-Men Astonishing (or whatever the name of the Joss Whedon one) is coming out. Cause I read the first comic on marvelcomics.com and it rocked. It had the usual Whedon dialogue that I love.

Two good comics, one mediocre one; I'll leave the identity of the "eh" as an exercise for the reader. I wouldn't even head out to the shop except I haven't been for a couple of weeks now.

Read the first issue of Monolith. Let's just say it was five flavors of "meh."

I liked the theme of the story and the characters had/have a lot of potential. But I doubt they'll ever live up to it. When Batman starts making appearances in a new title, you know it's over and they're trying anything to boost sales. I'm glad the original artist is returning with #9 at any rate. Issues 6-8, I didn't like the art.

Also this week, I'll be getting DDA #8 since it didn't ship out last week (or at least it didn't get to my area).

It was pretty good. I have far more hope for the new series than I had previously. I'm still VERY pissed about rebooting,

but at least they didn't kill anyone and left the door open for Legion v2 to reappear at some point, as Shikari finds herself in the NEW 31st century

. It did seem sort of contrived though.

About the new character designs:

Tinya looks fucking amazing, sort of like a throwback to 70s Phantom Girl

Cos's new uni rocks

Ayla looks nice, and the Light Lass throwback uni is fucking cool.

Nura looks great

Pale Shadow Lass doesn't do much for me

Still not decided on Dirk

Garth looks like Garth, but the glowing lightning bolts jazz him up a bit

I'm not crazy about Lu's cape, but it might grow on me.

Imra's uni is pretty standard, but I want to wait for a better image to fully decide

I skipped NYX #5, and got Ultimate Spidey #66 instead. Pretty funny stuff; I'll get the next one to see where this is going.

How did Logan and Peter switch bodies anyway? And more importantly, if Logan tried to score with MJ while in Peter's body, would that make him a pedophile?
