Here's the Diamond shipping list for November 19th, 2008. My haul:

Brave and the Bold #19 - Hal Jordan and the Phantom Stranger, written by David Hine and with art by Doug Braithwaite, neither of whom I know anything about. I'll give it a shot, however.
Ex Machina #39 - The conclusion of "Dirty Tricks", which promises to show us the tragic event alluded to in the first issue. Intriguing!
The Spirit #23 - Wherein our boy, under the mistaken impression that it'll provide a break, gets out of the city for a bit.
The Spirit Special - Four classic Will Eisner stories are being reprinted here as a promotion for the upcoming movie - which looks horrible, by the way. Yeesh. But, hey, at least it's an excuse for more Spirit on the stands.
Supergirl #35 - "New Krypton" Part 5.
Trinity #25 - Still way behind, alas.
Thunderbolts #126 - Introducing a new creative team, Andy Diggle and Roberto De La Torre. We'll see how this turns out.
Uncanny X-Men #504 - "Lovelorn", part 1 of 4.
X-Factor #37 - X-Factor versus Karma in Detroit. Awesome.
X-Men Legacy #218 - Wolvie and Chuck versus Sebastian Shaw and friends in Original Sin Part 4.

Also of interest are Conan the Cimmerian #5, Ambush Bug: Year None #4 (of 6), Batman and the Outsiders #13 (RIP tie-in), The X-Files #1 (of 7), Invincible #55, Amazing Spider-Man #578 (kicking off a Mark Waid two-parter), Deadpool #4, Punisher War Journal #25, and Angel: After The Fall #14.

According to DC's site, Robin #180 is also shipping this week. That'll probably be the only comic I pick up this week.

As for the question of Batman RIP above, the final issue ships on November 26th.

R.I.P. She-Hulk.

Cancelled. February is the last issue.

Yet they're relaunching Black Panther the same month with the same shit writer.

Thanks, Marvel.

Also, R.I.P. Ultimate Fantastic Four, New Exiles (who cares), Ultimate X-Men. Also ending in February.

Amazing Spider-Girl ending in March.

And all the DC cancellations of February too.

The big two are cleaning house.

damit, where the hell is priest? is there someway he can come back and fix all or weggies fucking mistakes as a writer? i really hate what black panther has become...

Also, R.I.P. Ultimate Fantastic Four, New Exiles (who cares), Ultimate X-Men. Also ending in February.

to be honest, i could care less about these... especially new exiles(when blink left... i stopped reading)

correct answer should have been "when Claremont came onboard". It is sad when the father of modern X-Men is out-written by Chuck Austen. CHUCK AUSTEN!!

I've been reading the Savage Sword Of Conan omnibuses so yeah, definitely getting Conan The Cimmerian #5. Totally forgot how dope Conan was.

And who's doing the X-Files?

This week I've decided to drop Trinity. I know I was a big champion of the book for a while, but the last month and a half has been really dull, and I just can't justify it anymore. Sorry, Busiek. Maybe I'll pick it back up sometime in the future.

Anyway, this week we've got:

-Amazing Spider-Man #578: Woo, Mark Waid, woo.
- Batgirl #5: Mini-series is almost over, and it's been super under-rated. More people should have been reading this.
- Batman and the Outsiders #13: The last couple issues have been a little dragging, but it's pretty clear
they're turning it into Batgirl and the Outsiders
. I'll stick around for a little while and see where it's going.
- Brave and the Bold #19: The reason for this is simple. I'm a sucker for a Hal Jordan pin-up, and that cover looks sick. Also, I like the Phantom Stranger. So it's win-win.
- Deadpool #4: I caught up on this series, and it's been a ton of fun. Can't wait to read this tomorrow.
- Flash #246: I actually liked the last issue a whole lot more than the first part of the arc, so I'm willing to stick with Burnett the rest of the way through. Fingers are crossed.
- Invincible #55: Omni-Man and Allen the Alien break out of prison. It will be fucking epic.
- JSA Kingdom Come Special Magog #1: Last week's Superman special was really, really good, and Peter J. Tomasi's writing this, so I'm totally in.
- Robin #180: Even though I'm pretty damn sure I know who Red Robin is, and it's kind of disappointing, this arc's been pretty cool. Still a shame about it getting the axe in February.
- Supergirl #35: I've been loving New Krypton so far, and the last issue of Supergirl was actually a lot of fun.
- Thunderbolts #126: I really liked Diggle's work on Green Arrow Year One, and I've been told this is a good jumping-on point, so here I am. The only exposure I've had to the Thunderbolts before was in New Ways to Die and some of Secret Invasion, so I'm not altogether sure what to expect. Hope it's good.
- Uncanny X-Men #504: Uncanny's been hit or miss in the last few issues. But I like Colossus, so maybe this one will impress me.

...and that's the haul this week. 12 books.

You think you know who Red Robin is now, or who he will supposedly be in the supposed RIP/Final Crisis fallout? And yeah, don't expect the Robin series to stay axed. It'll be back, it's just going through some changes due to RIP/Final Crisis.

When does the conclusion of Batman R.I.P. hit? Was it delayed for some reason?

R.I.P. Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate X-Men. Also ending in February.

well, there goes my dream of a new writer swooping in to try and salvage the books before they're a smoking hole in the ground

I'm pumped about the new Thunderbolts creative team, I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Definitely in for the JSA Magog special.

I keep buying Ambush Bug even though it's not terribly good.

Still. Haven't. Found. SI: Thor #3.

Small week.

A warning about Thunderbolts: apparently, it contains some post-Secret Invasion spoilers. So if you want to read the final issue of SI completely fresh, I'd recommend avoiding Thunderbolts for two weeks.

Deadpool #4 - Daniel Way managed to surprise me with his SI tie-in arc in Deadpool so I can't wait to see what he has in store for everyone's favorite merc-with-a-mouth. Also, he better fucking bring Blind Al, Weasel, Bob, Agency X and Time Travel machines.... or else!
Amazing Spider-Man #578 - Bit behind on Spider-Man. I still haven't read Joe Kelly's and Zeb's issue.
Thunderbolts #126 - Norman Osborn. Wish you was here.
Invincible #55 - Shit be hitting fans!
Ghost Rider #29 - Daniel Ketch vs Johnny Blaze! Can. Not. Wait!

For a guy who doesn't regularly read Superman titles, how is New Krypton?

I'm often intrigued by the Superman books but never seem to jump on.

AN IMPORTANT FUCKING NOTE: DE LANDRO IS BACK ON X-FACTOR. THE ART WILL NO LONGER SUCK A FAT ONE.

With that out of the way.

Honestly, UFF's past couple arcs haven't been bad. And the last UXM one was pretty good. Too little, too late though, I guess. At least USM still owns every month.

Wasn't Spider-Man supposed to be three times a month? Feels like it's a weekly. What is the last week it missed?

It is 3 times a month. But sometimes it'll be the end and beginning of a month, so it might end up being 4 to 6 weeks in a row, but it'll still be 3 times a month.

It's great fun. Don't listen to Blader. He's wrong. Grab the one-shot part 1 New Krypton Special.

Though I suggest getting the Brainiac arc first, as it leads into it. Even Blader can't deny how great that was.

a) Kelly's two part arc was completely awesome.
b) More Ghost Rider love = always awesome.

I'd be satisfied even if it was a quarter as good as his Deadpool stuff.

He writes probably the funniest Spidey in a long time and he made Hammerhead awesome.

The opening scene in part 1 is :lol

I couldn't stand it until a month ago. I quite like it now.

Actually, I can. It was just decent.

You have crazy low standards. Or maybe I have crazy high standards. I don't know.

That's no measure of greatness, the Superman books are usually unreadable. =P

Honestly, if you want a great Superman story, get All Star Superman.

MisterHero said:
I just read that they're taking Superman out of Action Comics

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo

That's terrible. Action is the institution of the comics industry, if you give a fuck about the history of comics you don't fuck with it. Don't fuck with its numbering, and taking Superman out of it - that had better be a temporary stunt. Because nobody's going to read it if you make it a vehicle for characters nobody cares about like the Guardian or whoever.

Not really. He's just one of the best writers in the business. He tells great stories.

wow they cancel ultimate x men? i can still remember the day i bought issue 1 back in 2001:lol and like one and a half year later i stopped reading comics on a regulary basis.

Johns also wrote Infinite Crisis, which is just an unforgivable sin.

And Millar wrote Civil War. But now he's doing Kick Ass, Old Man Logan, 1985, and Fantastic Four.

Shit happens.

Civil War was actually decent though. Infinite Crisis was something of a travesty.

I will also never forgive Johns (among other things) for Superbitch Prime. He is probably one of the worst comic book characters of all time.

no, civil war was stupid.

The last 3 arcs of Action Comics (one 'Last Son' not written by Johns) were really awesome.

Civil War was OKAY. It wasn't stupid like MisterHero said, but it was just okay. It should have been better. What was awesome about Civil War was the tie-ins and the affect on the Marvel Universe.

Prime was used well in the Sinestro Corps War.

I really didn't mind Superboy Prime. Really the only thing I can remember from Infinite Crisis is him carving the S into his chest at the end. That's the only thing I remember from the entire thing.

I just read the LA Times interview where DiDio talked about taking Superman out of Action Comics. So fucking dumb.

Incidentally, he also ended up spoiling the ending to New Krypton, so read at your discretion.

Don't know about that but he's making sure Superboy Prime is getting his ass kicked HARD in Legion of Three Worlds.
I'm kinda relieved that Ultimate FF is getting cancelled. It's been a long time they didn't even try to find a good team to make a run on it. It had a good start though.

I believe Loeb's steaming pile of crap is still going.

Huh? Ultimatum is a mini that ends with the cancellation of UXM and UFF.

After that, Ultimate Avengers, an ongoing by Millar, launches.

Edit: Bringing Superman into space?

Uggggh.

But Loeb continues with Ultimates 4.
