That probably won't end up happening anymore.

No, it's happening. It was reconfirmed just recently, with Frank Cho drawing.

Oh, and it's called "New Ultimates," instead of Ultimates 4.

Sucks about She-Hulk getting canned; I think my Marvel pull list just got cut in half. Which is a shame, because I had actually warmed to PAD's idea of resurrecting the Lady Liberators as a modern super team; that's a concept with a lot of potential (and not just for cheesecake). It even sounds good as a title -- "She Hulk and the Lady Liberators." Has a nice ring to it.

Do you not buy much Marvel? SEVERE lack of X-Factor and Amazing Spidey.

Not sure which I live more in comics....the Alex Ross Supes covers or Geoff Johns.

Gotta give the nod to the best writer in comics right now, Mr Johns.
:D :D :D

That's no measure of greatness, the Superman books are usually unreadable. =P

Honestly, if you want a great Superman story, get All Star Superman.

Wait, weren't you the guy who said Busiek was a liability for DC? After Camelot Falls? That kind of makes you about as good a judge of Superman comics as Terence off The Amazing Race is of ham sandwiches.

;D

Just when I shouldn't be spending more money, a bunch of comics come out. ;)

FABLES TP VOL 11 WAR AND PIECES (MR)
X-FILES #1 (OF 6)
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #578
ENDERS GAME BATTLE SCHOOL #2 (OF 5)
FANTASTIC FOUR #561
UNCANNY X-MEN #504 MD
X-FACTOR #37
ANGEL AFTER THE FALL #14

So I bought the Kingdom Come Special One Shot
I must say that Ross's stuff looks sooo much better when its semi inked

The reaction seems to have been very positive for that approach. I wonder if he could do it fast enough for a monthly book - I think it would be so epic to see him on a JSA run with Johns. He's already co-plotting the book, Eaglesham said he might want to move on and he can draw all the golden age Superman he wants there...

I'm not sure what you're talking about.

That I read (and loved) already.

What I really need is a guide to Superman trades.

Superman trades are the way to go. I never bother with the ongoing.

This is one of my favorite Superman stories:

Basically a "What if" Superman turned out real in the "real" world

why do they keep bringing her back? damn let the bitch die for good.

The first splash page in ASM 578 is like one of the best examples of comics storytelling perfection and simplicity I've ever read. Fucking Amazing.

This months Uncanny was the best in a while

No Greg Land, and no Brubaker (he just isn't fit for X-Men)

Hey man, I'm very blunt about my Loeb feelings.

Ultimates 3 was mediocre.

Ultimatum #1 sucked.

Hulk is awesome.

What a fucking amazing reference.

Thunderbolts was fucking awesome. Diggle nailed it, this issue really felt like an extension of Ellis' run.

How big is the SI spoiler? The issue's sitting on my coffee table but I'm not sure if I should hold off or not.

Just the obvious:
the Skrulls lose.
Try to act surprised. ;)

OH MY GOD.

FINAL PAGE.

ASM.

WHATTA REVEAL.

COMICS, MAN.

Well FUCK. I honestly wouldn't turn the page, because I kept trying to think of who it might be. Still surprised me.

ASM is so damn good.

So Ambush Bug was finally pretty funny this month. I LOLed at Argh!yle in drag so he could sneak into the lesbian bar to talk to the Question. The Ambush Big Revenge Squad
featuring Superman with his eyes covered by a black censor bar
was pretty funny too - anything that results in a Chocolate Chewy Bonkers reference is good in my books.

Yeah, really strong debut for the new creative team. Casting Norman Osborne as a Richard Nixon/Joseph McCarthy/J. Edgar Hoover amalgam is a brilliant move, really brings Ellis' take on the character to the next level. And the plot was really well done - you've got no idea just where he's taking it. That might be the best written Moonstone's ever been, and I like that he picked up on the Bullseye thing from Faith in Monsters. Loved the colouring too, really brought out the gravitas in the story. Also - is it just me, or did De La Torre draw Mac Gargan's wang?

I think this could shape up to be a really awesome run, though it may read a bit better in trades.

Happy Day folks. Looks like Exiles is canceled in February. Or at least Claremont is leaving the book. I dunno.

i really forgot the name, sorry. i know the character from way back in the chuck dixon run, i guess he grew up or something.... but i'm glad to see anarchy is back. he's always been a favorite of mine and the only guy who can match wits with tim drake.

I think the author of Robin has said that the identity of Red Robin right know doesn't matter. Red Robin will come into play later and that's way more important. Personally,
I think Tim Drake will become Red Robin in the wake of RIP and Final Crisis.

EDIT: Found it. Under the Hood was what I was looking for.

Yeah, I said that on the last page. It's a shame. Exiles was at least readable. New Exiles has been TERRIBLE.

Like I said, Februay brings the end of New Exiles, Ultimate FF, Ultimate X-Men, Robin, Nightwing, She-Hulk (noooo), and Birds of Prey. Then Amazing Spider-Girl in March.

Only one I really care about is She-Hulk. Nightwing too, but that will just be replaced.

Wow, Manga has really taken me. I have never gotten into US comics cause I thought they were all just basically whoring out the big classic names (Spidey/ SuperMan/ BatMan/ main characters from X-Men/ ect).

Some of these look interesting . . . Im trying to find out more about graphic novels so I guess I might want to take up more interest in US Comics now.
Also . .

There's a dozen different threads with recommendations for you. And there are plenty of US comics--some of the best of US comics, in fact--that create their own universes and tell stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end. DC and Marvel superheroes may be the majority of Western comics, but they're not the entirety.

She hulk being canceled again isn't necessarily a bad thing really. The original 13 issue series from around 4 years ago was awesome, when it came back AGAIN it started out pretty good but got gradually worse throughout the storyline, really it came to the bottom of the barrel fairly recently with all the tie ins to civil war, world without a hulk, world war hulk and secret invasion. It went from being a clever book starring jen walters and featuring she hulk to just being she hulk 24/7, it was no longer funny.

It's also interesting to read that ultimate FF and ultimate Xmen are being shit canned, I never did bother with ultimate xmen really, didn't care for it.
