Well i'll be buying #1 at least just because that crew...
..Although Marvel Knights: Spider-Man was a little fucking crazy at times because of those page layouts.

I am currently thinking of waiting for a possible OHC or going the Tradepaperback Route... Didnt decided yet.
I generally prefer to buy omnibus / oversize / collected editions over trade paperback, if there's an option.

I actually didn't know he was also drawing it. For some reason i thought he was only writing it, so i wasn't looking forward to it at all. But since he's also on art i'll give it a shot
Just finished reading Lemire's Underwater Welder. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first volume of Essex County that I read, but I am glad I read it.
It seemed a little over-ambitious maybe. Or possibly under-ambitious... The concepts were all pretty solid, but it somehow missed the mark. I think I was hoping it would end up with more depth than it actually had. With that said, it was still a really nice story with really nice art and I'll definitely try to read more Lemire in the future.
I'm really hoping they put out an OHC. I'd be all over that.
I'd happily take a complete collection TPB if an OHC isn't an option though.

I don't even mind the Kate and Maggie stuff. It's a clever way for them to renege on the whole marriage thing without resorting to like, ruining the potential of the relationship. I just didn't expect them to actually go the route that they did. Comics being what they are and everything being reversible, in the end, I say why the fuck not.
I don't so much have a problem with the vampire thing. It's that they had a well-written relationship between Maggie and Kate, that wasn't gimmicky at all, and they threw it out. It doesn't matter if they never actually got married. Three months in comics is like, five decades in the real world anyway. No one would have cared if the marriage never actually happened.

I'm split as well. I don't like being spoiled but if Marvel releases previews/announcements for upcoming books that does just that, there's not much we can do about that. :/
I haven't made a dent in my trades' backlog ever since I finished reading The Thanos Imperative and Transformers: Last of the Wreckers. Most of that can be contributed to me reading stuff on Marvel Unlimited. Read a lot of Marvel events and even a few collections that were really great (Abnett's Guardians of the Galaxy and Daredevil: Yellow). Speaking of the latter, Daredevil: Yellow was really good! I mean, wow, it's self-contained and very well written despite it being predictable. It really touched me and was surprised at how taken aback I was after I had wrapped it up. Great book for anyone interested in reading more Daredevil.

So, quick question, been a lurker for awhile and trying to get back into comics. I'm a college student so I have the budget to collect some comics but I don't really know where to start again, I've mostly been on or off these past couple of years. I've decided to make a comixology account and stay mostly digital since it's more convenient. can anyone recommend some on-goings? I've always been a big DC guy but hey, I love Marvel and indies too. Any suggestions?

After all the Nocenti Catwoman you paid actual money for, there's no way you pass on something with Harley in it. You are the #1 Harley Quinn über fan.

Just ordered the new Dark Horse Presents #1 that came out last week. 56 pages for $4.99, what a deal.
I just got back from 5 weeks out of town and the LCS gave me a huge stack of comics. Here are a couple impressions:
Saga #21 and #22 were pretty good. The series feels very formulaic. First page: shocking image. Last page: cliffhanging twist! Always a lot of swearing to show you what a "real" family interacts like as well. I like the book and I'm not dropping it, but the longer I read the more pronounced BKV's writing patterns are.
X-Force #8 was amazing. This is definitely the best X-series being published and #7 was the single best issue I've read that came out in the last few years.
Punisher #9 was amazing as well. The book is exactly what I want out of a Punisher story.
East of West #14 was alright. I couldn't remember the history of that Ezra guy. IIRC he has a back story told in one of the earlier issues, but it's been too long.
Black Science #7-8 ehhhhh. The art is pretty, but the story is boring me. Out of all the Image sci-fi books I read Prophet is now the top of the list for me.
Shutter #4-5 That alarm clock is up to something.
Multiversity #1 I've read two Morrison books in my time reading comics, The Invisibles Omnibus, and Multiversity #1. I like them both a lot, but there are a lot of similarities. The pseudo-philosophical babbling is really apparent in both.

Can't wait for that beautiful imagery, it's going to be a trip and hopefully a good exploration of Bucky's character. I doubt Rudy will last long on the book, but I'll enjoy the ride!
Also, for those of you upset about Secret Avengers, don't worry! You can follow your favorites Coulson (who Kot apparently is interested in revealing as gay) and Bland Junior in Mark Waid's new SHIELD book! But seriously, if they shift those two to Agents of SHIELD and roll with Spider-Woman, Hawkeye, Black Widow, MODOK and maybe some other new characters, SA might avoid cancellation.
Calling it now, if there is a reboot Junior will be axed and instead Ultimate Fury (who is better) will be the SHIELD director of 616.

I felt very similar about Underwater Welder. You should pick up Trillium - while it's not necessarily hugely deep, I think it probably tells a better story in the course of a single volume in that you don't feel the lack of depth in the same way (if that makes sense!). Of course it's also a nice story with nice art

So I just finished reading Lost at Sea. You may already know what it's about, but it is a story about an 18-year-old girl who is suffering from depression and is on a road trip with three other teenagers who she just met.
It's very much a Bryan Lee O'Malley book and it's pretty clear that it's his first because it definitely has some flaws, but it's still a nice read. It's not primarily comedy like Scott Pilgrim is, though it is as lighthearted as a story narrated by someone suffering from depression could be and there are quite a few funny parts.
Also, the first two-thirds of it I thought were just good, but the last third of it was really great and it really came into its own.
Unfortunately, I haven't read Seconds, so I can't compare it to that, but overall I thought it was an enjoyable story. It's not exceptional or anything, but if you're really craving more Bryan Lee O'Malley, it'll hit the spot. Basically, it's exactly the quality you'd expect O'Malley's first comic to be -- nothing more, nothing less.
I personally wouldn't say it's worth the $16.99 it goes for on IST (mostly because it's such a quick read), but I'm also cheaper than most people. If you do happen to find it at a library or something, it's definitely worth reading though.

It's great, though I honestly wouldn't mind a new writer with Noto still on board with his amazing art. I wish things moved faster, Edmondson is doing fine though, just wish there was a little more fun in the book like NTGYK has said.
Any of you guys fans of Majorie Liu's short run on Black Widow, with the arc The Name of The Rose? I would love it if Marvel gave Liu another shot, with their renewed focus on female creators you'd think they would want her back.
In all honesty, certain parts of the Marvel Universe needs to be rebooted.
Oh man that is gorgeous I think I'm going to have to crack open the war chest to afford it. I've always wanted to go back to the very beginning and the only series I've managed so far is with X-Men. Love to get into some other Kirby stuff.

Uncanny X-Force by Remender/Opena. The whole series comes highly recommended, and many of the events of Uncanny Avengers build upon it.
If you don't want to bother:
X-Force killed the child Apocalypse, triggering latent programming within Warren to become Apocalypse's successor. Some bad stuff happened including the extermination of an entire town, and X-Force had to put Warren down before he fulfilled his destiny and ended mankind.
