Just finished reading Geoff Johns' Shazam. I wasn't interested in it at all before reading it, but I saw it at the library and figured I might as well pick it up since I've heard quite a few people here saying it's great and I've never read anything by Geoff Johns (or any Shazam books, for that matter).
But anyways, I really enjoyed it! It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I especially loved the first two-thirds of it with the more down-to-earth stuff. The highlight of the book was definitely right after Billy got his powers and he

I wasn't interested in it at all before reading it, but I saw it at the library and figured I might as well pick it up since I've heard quite a few people here saying it's great and I've never read anything by Geoff Johns (or any Shazam books, for that matter).

I haven't read much from the New 52 but I am so glad I picked this up a few months ago. It is such a fun story.

I think the problem was that the format may have played a role in how well it was received. I know my interest shot up and I enjoyed it more in the magazine format.

And I don't mean that in a bad light, just so few Image titles seem to maintain buzz after the first trade.

Just finished reading the first 7 issues of the new Ms. Marvel and subbed on Comixology. I hope it is doing well sales wise because it is easily my favorite of the current Marvel runs. So much fun! Kamala is a really funny character and the interactions with her family feel very honest.

Pick up the Criminal volumes instead. Fatale is mainly (and possibly only) interesting in the context of the other Brubaker/Phillips books and as much as I liked the individual issues, it somehow ends up less than the sum of its parts.

Yeah its a great story. Check out Trinity War and Forever Evil, both are really good arcs.

It's £77.55 on amazon here! I wish we had better access to good deals for comics in the UK especially for larger books. Even dedicated comic stores in Scotland sell Omni's closer to RRP than not.
