COMICS!!! |OT| February 2017 All You Need is Love (and Rockets)

Was reading Blade of the Immortal last night. DH has reprinted the series in a new omnibus format which is just 3 volumes in one softcover. The action and brutality is pretty great. Dudes getting chopped in five parts.

If it is the worst I have seen then way not. When I come across something worst I will let you know :p

across something worse*

I gotta stop typing on my phone

So I think you can preorder the Motor Girl trade for $3.99.

It has a release date of 01/01/17 but it's probably an error like the price.

Amazon does honor pricing mistakes, but the date is so off.

Clone Conspiracy #5 was very underwhelming. Why the heck I gotta buy Omega to conclude the story? The bombs should have been dropped in this issue but instead we get that tepid crap. Not worth the $4.

And lol at the cop out reveal that New U kept the originals. It completely undermines Ben Reilly's view that what he was doing was good (if it wasn't already screwed) since it was basically kidnapping and robs the deaths of any impact.

Yeah, I've not liked CBR for some time bow but when I looked at other sites they all seemed as bad. Seeing that Newsarama runs less stories (CBR puts way too much up and most of it has become listicles) and a greater percentage are about comics I'm switching back to them.

I really feel at one point Comic Vine could have been something great but then Sara Lima left and it just started to slide in quality. Last I looked it seemed most of the content now was previews. It's a shame as Tony Guerrero seems like a great dude.

The Mighty Thor #16

really good stuff right here

This is pretty much what happened. I'm just surprised that he did it as well as he did which is pretty good.
Right now I'm guessing that in Omega
the Lizard turned his family, but I have no idea what Slott is planning with Rhino.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #12:
I'd read an entire series of the Power Rangers: The Nail type scenario this introduced. Holy fuck, this was awesome.

So much continuity porn. The Aquitar Rangers! Ninjor! THE PHANTOM RANGER!

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Holy shit. The Walking Dead was fantastic. Especially the parts with
Negan and Rick in the house.

New issue in two weeks!

I have a horrible feeling
the
saviours
will kill
Negan

I don't think it will be Negan.

It's gonna be Dwight

Negan is kinda in the middle of a major arc whereas Dwight is at the end of one, having fully redeemed himself

Eugene, I feel, may be in danger as well. Lots of hero shots for him these last few issues. And he has personal stakes in all this

His
plot with the radio is still unresolved. He won't be going anywhere.

Yeah but I could see
someone else stumbling on the radio in the wake of his death. Or him passing that secret to someone just before he goes. I don't think the radio requires Eugene to be fully explored

Hmm, I could see it being both of them tbh, as you say their arcs are concluded.

Sex criminals. A year for that? Hardly seems worth it

The two people currently hiding in his house will most likely find it. Why else would Kirkman go out his way to show them there?

ooo didn't even realise a new miles spidey came out this week

The crossover has been pretty good so far. Bendis ends up acknowledging in the story that Miles still has a ways to go when it comes to actually being creative with his powers.

Only thing I didn't like was the scenes with Ganke and Fabio came off as padding.

The scenes in the dorm are just weird. It is really awkward to have that framing device for half the story.

I enjoyed the action in this issue but felt it didn't move the story forward much.

That was a phenomenal issue of The Walking Dead!!!!

Rick x Negan wow what an awesome ship.
It was so fucking good.
Rick and Negan teaming up! But damn, hearing Negan talk about his wife was really sad. Especially after reading Here's Negan. Can't wait to see what happens next. I wonder how Carl and Maggie are going to react to him being out?

The first trade for Seven to Eternity made me realize this was an ongoing. And only 4 issues in. I thought this series was past 5 but it's taking it's time.

The following is a verbatim quote from today's Steve Rogers: Captain America.
STEVE: "You probably think I'm insane. Or brainwashed. Or, maybe, you just think the cosmic cube changed me, that I'm the aberration, and not-- all of this"

I don't understand why that makes you upset.

a) it's incredibly hacky dramatic irony, which I have no patience for
b) it's a speech
in which Steve Rogers tells Zemo that, actually, he's being a nazi of his own volition, because nazis will save the world

Steve believes that, but it's obviously not the case. The Cap we're seeing in this story doesn't even believe in what Hydra is asking him to do.

I loved Solanin but couldn't get into Punpun at all. Stopped after the first couple of volumes.

I can see that. I like Solanin more overall myself even though I did enjoy Punpun.

Only thing I read so far for the week was Wild Storm and I thought it was good. Very interested in seeing what comes next for this imprint now that this has started.

I'm still reading Batman out of inertia, and still can't believe how poorly King handles the character. It's a terrible fit. Seventeen issues in and nothing of consequence has happened.

Really dug the first issue of Batwoman.
