Let's all take a gander at some of the new series and interesting books that are coming out in July...
+Marvel 100th Anniversary Specials by Various Writers and Artists (7/02, 7/09, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30). Each week in July, Marvel celebrates its 75th anniversary... by comemmorating its 100th, with a glimpse at the Marvel U of 2061! ...Huuuuuh??? Jan Van Meter introduces you to the granddaughter of Doom, and the Richards-Banner twins! Sean Ryan's future webslinger battles a symbiote-powered Kingpin of Crime! Robin Furth invites you to the wedding of Cyclops and Emma Frost! Rogue (and writer/artist James Stokoe) leads the future Avengers into the Negative Zone! And, Andy Lanning returns to the Guardians of the Galaxy as they face... the Silver Galactus!
+Legendary Star-Lord #1 by Sam Humphries and Paco Medina (7/02). Just in time for the blockbuster event of summer 2014 comes an all-new series! Adventure and romance await as Peter Quill, better known (by some, at least) as Star-Lord, dodges the law and Badoon pirates, sets his sights on the big scores, and maybe woos a certain mustant phasing girl from back home. Danger waits behind every corner, but if anyone is up to the task its the legendary outlaw... STAR-LORD!!!
+Rocket Raccoon #1 by Skottie Young (7/02). Just in time for the blockbuster event of summer 20- ehh, you know how it goes. Rocket's been a lot of things in his lifetime (but NOT a raccoon, okay? he's not a raccoon), but he soon finds himself playing the part of outlaw when an unfortunate encounter makes him a wanted alien, on the run from space cops, bounty hunters, and more. Good thing he's got his ol' buddy Groot with him, right?
+Spider-Man 2099 #1 by Peter David and Will Sliney (7/09). The book fans have been clamoring for is finally here as Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of the year 2099, stars in his own series once again! Stranded in the year 2014 by the Alchemax Corporation, Miguel learns that he has a unique opportunity on his hands: destroy Alchemax before it's even started! But when you start messing with the timestream there are consequences, and some of them are painful!
+Ms. Marvel #6 by G. Willow Wilson and Jacob Wyatt (7/16). She's got the powers, she's got the homemade costume, and she's had her training montage; now, Kamala Khan is ready to defend the streets of Jersey City as the new Ms. Marvel! Don't mess! But can Kamala handle the new criminal mastermind with her in his sights while juggling responsibilities at school and at home? No? Well too bad, because that's what you're getting in this timely one-shot special. Harley Quinn is out to get her own comic book published, and heaven help the editors that refuse her.
+Robin Rises: Omega #1 by Peter Tomasi, Andy Kubert and Jonathan Glapion (7/16). At long last, Batman's quest to recover the body of his son Damian is over... or is it? He may have caught up with Ra's al Ghul, but the battle is far from over as a new player enters the game -- Apokalips?!? What does Darkseid want with Batman's dead son? +Baltimore: The Witch of Harju #1 by Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden and Peter Bergting (7/30). When vampire hunter Lord Henry Baltimore encounters a young woman on the run, he finds himself thrust into the role of protector when what she's running from catches up: a dead man possessed by supernatural forces! There's a witch pulling this dead man's strings, however, and Baltimore will have to find out what she wants if he's going to save the girl and his own skin!
+Deep Gravity #1 by Mike Richardson, Gabriel Hardman, Corinna Bechko and Fernando Baldo (7/30). From the writer of Star Wars: Legacy comes a new science-fiction space adventure! +Lobster Johnson: Get the Lobster #5 by Mike Mignola, John Arcudi and Tonci Zonjic (7/30). Look at that cover. Okay? Are you looking? That cover, and the promise that it holds, is the reason this book made the list. Not because Lobster Johnson is a great comic (which it is), not because it's expertly written and illustrated (which it also is), and not because it's just fun comics (which, yep, you guessed it). Lobster Johnson fighting a guy in a biplane on a zeppelin. COMICS.
+The Massive #25 by Brian Wood and Garry Brown (7/30). The Kapital's voyage nears its conclusion, as Brian Wood's story of a post-disaster Earth enters its final arc! As the Earth itself begins to come apart, heralding and end for the few who survive upon it, the mystery of Mary's identity and the origins of "The Crash" begin to take shape. Will all secrets be revealed before the end of everything, and more importantly do the answers really matter?
+Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #36 by Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman and Mateus Santolouco (7/02). War looms on the horizon for the Turtles, and Leonardo and Splinter must meditate on the path they will take in dealing with the Shredder. As they strategize, however, a new threat emerges from the darkness to swallow them. A fan-favorite character returns as the Rat King makes his debut, and his machinations will lead the Turtles to either salvation or madness!
+The Squidder #1 by Ben Templesmith (7/16). In a war torn, post-apocalyptic world where humanity is enslaved, one man is burdened by memories of a forgotten war. +The X-Files: Year Zero #1 by Karl Kesel, Vic Malhotra and Greg Scott (7/16). When the FBI begins receiving prophetic letters signed by a "Mr. Zero," Agent Mulder becomes convinced of a connection to similar messages from a "Mr. Xero" received through a suburban housewife in the 1940s. +Samurai Jack #10 by Jim Zub and Andy Kuhn (7/30).
