What's the essential Catwoman reading lineup? I've been really into her character lately, I've always dug her thief/rogue-ish nature, but I've read basically zero of her stories. I started some cursory reading of her on a Batman wiki but then I realized I was just spoiling the stories before even reading them, and missing out on the artwork. I've only seen some of her stuff in the Animated Series.

From the anecdotal evidence we have the book is underperforming, but I wouldn't expect it to go away or anything.
Sales were underwhelming but the book hasn't hit #2. Things can definitely improve. Just keep buying what you like and don't be afraid to post about it on fb/twitter.

The art is from lesbian bdsm love and friendship book Sunstone by writer artist Stjepan Sejic. He is amazing as is the series.

The "alright" selling books for Now! 2.0 looks to be JJ<Champions<Infamous.
All books are underperforming and already ongoing books like Spider-Woman have been hit by CW2 apathy and lost readers.

All right it's Halloween folks, what's your favorite horror comic?
I was leaning towards Severed, which I love, but if I'm being completely honest about what has best glued itself to my brain, it has to be the original 30 Days of Night. That got pretty stupid when it exploded into tons of follow-ups and a mediocre film, but the original is still fucking good on its own merits. Jock and Diggle brought us a tale of nightmarish, monstrous vampires in a creative setting with solid characterization on both sides of the conflict. I've gotta give it to 30 Days.

This isn't really all that true. Certain books are underperforming while others are doing better than one would expect.

You know, he really wasn't half bad on this volume of UXM prior to his break during Apocalypse Wars, and his covers have not been bad either, but I have really disliked it since then. He really should not be allowed to draw Psylocke ever again. But the recent issue with the Magneto/Exodus face-off was actually almost good.

In terms of actual quality, probably Locke & Key.
I have lots of fond memories of Marvel Zombies at the peak of that fad though. The original Ultimate FF story, the first two minis, Dead Days and the Army of Darkness crossover are all still pretty enjoyable. Sucks that the AOD crossover is out of print because of legal shtuff. I still remember the simultaneous laughter and feeling shit when I saw
the Runaways zombies eating Old Lace.
The Van Lente stuff is alright, though it suffers because they drag it into 616 too much. And the Halloween one-shot from 2012 (or 2013, I forget which) with
Kitty, and her son Peter *wipes away tear*
I like the Marvel Universe Versus trilogy as well, they're ridiculous but I enjoy them because they're just so gory and silly.
I didn't mind any of that arc. It's not good but it's not terrible imo. I like his mystique.

Last I checked the big names have lost a bit but it's bound to happen. I would say I wouldn't call NOW Shattered a bomba yet.

I was referring to Marvel's line in general. Marvel Now is going to have some books that should be popular, but there are also a lot of books that probably won't appeal to traditional comic fans and those books won't do as well.
I can't be a part of this community if the November thread doesn't have sufficient Trump content. It's been nice posting here all these years but I only want to make comics-gaf great again and this is our last OT chance. To Messi and Freeza, a non trump thread is a vote for Valiant.

And I like Marvels Hellraiser books.
I am fine with having Trump one last time thrown in my face before history forgets about this asshole.

Severed is really good, I like that a lot. There's a few scenes (you can probably imagine which) that really make my skin crawl, which is pretty hard to do with a comic. Scott Snyder is definitely one of the best horror writers in the industry right now, he really knows how to get to the heart of a fear, expose the core, and explore it with whatever monster he's cooked up. American Vampire has a lot of creepy moments & I like the small scope horror of the first half of the wake.
Favourite horror comic probably goes to Locke & Key though. Again, it's how Joe Hill gets under your skin with things most of us can relate too to some extent. The death of a key role model, feeling isolated growing up, things from your past that you would really like to go away threatening to ruin your current relationships & status quo, the things that really scare us and drive our insecurities in real life. Oh, and then a heap of lovecraftian horror at the end of the hallway. A ton of insightful character work wrapped up in the mysteries of keyhouse, and tons of creepy moments I'd rather not ruin for folks who haven't read it yet.
Honorable mention to Sweet Tooth. I think Locke & Key just speaks to me a bit more, but Sweet Tooth really is a fantastic series, lots of really horrific moments, but a lot of hope too, and the core relationship is the book is very touching. Anyone who likes the last of us, or the road, or the dark tower, check it out, similar character beats epxlored but in Lemire's own way.
Just to look at it from a different angle, Unknown Soldier by Joshua Dysart is true true eye opening horror, simply in terms of how true to life the nature of it's horror, although I'm not sure it's what people normally mean by horror.
Now favourite horror novel, that would be tougher....
It's probably It or The Shining.
