This article from Next Generation describes a new handheld from Commodore (the company formerly known as Yeahronimo Media Ventures, who bought the rights to the Commodore brand last year) called the Commodore Combo.

It's a portable media player and GPS device, which is also capable of playing games. It will come with 5 games preloaded onto its 20 GB hard drive, and another 90 or so will be made available as online downloads.

According to some reports that I've read, the 5 games that are preloaded on it are emulated NES games. None of them were named, but they were said to be NES games.

What in the heck are emulated NES games doing on a device bearing the Commodore name? Couldn't we at least get games from...um, I don't know, perhaps a Commodore machine?

The market for portable video game systems is quickly becoming crowded. iRiver jumped in, Commodore quickly followed...now I hear Polaroid has a new handheld game machine coming out, too.

Oh for the love of...

That Polaroid console is four times the size of a PSP, if not slightly more and it will cost $600. It will sell boatloads, Boatloads I tells ya'!

...

Meh...

man, I was so excited coming in here, but no bootleg floppies of 90% of the game's software library, no sale....

LOAD "*" ,8,1 bitches!

Just say no to those input devices..yeeecchh

Curtiousy of Meier.

:lol

If this Commodore handheld could perfectly emulate C64 and Amiga games, I'd be all over it like a fly on shit. But playing emulated NES games? Who gives a fuck?
