Wow the deal goes on till tomorrow. I'm buying a Powerbook and with a student discount I also get a free iPod Mini (mail in rebate). I'm still undecided on which screen size I should get. 15" widescreen or 17" widescreen. You can also use this deal on any computer or notebook $500 or more. I already have a iPod mini though:(

Could anyone give me any suggestions on which screen size I should choose?

I use a 15" and it's perfect. Some people swear by the 17", but I think it hinders portability a bit too much.

Sorry, I meant to mention it was a PowerBook. I've used it for the last 3 years in college and will continue to do so. It's nice because it's got a nice big screen but still fits on most desks and on your lap comfortably.

I mostly do coding, email, browsing, write papers, etc. I don't really play games or anything, so I can't comment on that.

I have a 1.25gHz with 512mb RAM. Make sure you buy some more RAM for it. You need at least 512, but I'd recommend 768 or 1GB.

If you had to choice to have a 17" instead of a 15". Why would or wouldn't you want the 17"? I'm looking for pros and cons bascally.

The 17 is a lot bigger than it sounds. Its a lot of machine to lug around all the time. I use a 17" at work but all the machines that I own are 15s. They are a balance between the too damn small 12 and the a bit to large and heavy 17.

Yup. My thoughts exactly.

Why would you want the 17" anyways? You get more screenspace, ya...but really, 15" is a lot.

I don't see anything about this on the CompUSA site. Link?

This makes me want to get a 20" Cinema Display. But I'm soooo poor. Might have to do it.

Thanks for the help guys, I think I'll get a 15" but my last question is: should I choose widescreen version or not?
