Hey guys,

I'm in need of GAF advice, I have the chance to get a Mac Mini with upgraded ram to 1GB, 1.25ghz G4 with a combo drive with Apple Keyboard and mouse. I like Macs I own a Powerbook TI and a Powerbook 17" Aluminum, both of them just recently died on me :( The entire package would be like 425$ + shipping.

Then again I have a chance to get a Toshiba M35 special edition laptop. It has a DVD-RW drive, 15.4" TruBright widescreen display, Pentium M735 Centrino, Nvidia 5200Go 64mb, 512mb PC2700 ram, etc for 510$ Shipped.

so which one would be the better deal? I didn't use my macs for a lot of work, some photoshop etc, but most of that was done on my home desktop. But the Mini is nice small compact but lacks a Superdrive. On the other hand the Toshiba has a screen that's above average Laptop LCD's has a DVD-RW drive but it's big.

So GAF help me decide :D

Didn't the 17" come out within the last year (I guess it's been close to 2?)? Shouldn't it still be under warranty?

I upgraded the ram, and to a superdrive, when I took it in Applestore wanted nothing to do with it... now the screen is dead and they want 1100$ to fix it, and for that price I could get something that out preforms it.

And what's this annoucement tomorrow? some Ipod crap? I hate Ipods!
