Most of us are able to differentiate between real animals and cartoon anthropomorphic animals.

That has nothing to do with hypocrisy. I believe in the food chain. I feel bad for most factory farmed animals. I still eat them. Animals aren't people, and these animals are primarily breed for human consumption.
