Interesting, they are trying to make a more geeky but hip-hop/street version of Peter. I wonder if they didn't want to do Miles or couldn't do Miles?
Regardless I will give this a shot since it's the X-men 97 team.
Also fun fact: IIRC the last Spiderman cartoon series (The one that was supposed to be a canon backstory to Tom Holland's Spiderman) ended up being removed from MCU canon because the creator said Marvel barely allowed them to use any villains due to them wanting to potentially use them in future movies. I don't blame them for being okay with the show being put to an end.
Animation looks colorful and cool. But why not just use Miles Morales for this? They were clearly itching for the "representation". Doesn't seem like my cup of tea and I haven't been impressed with Disney's output for quite some time.
This is better than I expected but the animation gets some getting used to. It leans HARD into the 70's comic aesthetic. The way it parallels other MCU events while clearly not MCU-616/ 199999 (this still irks me) I think it's cool. It's not My Adventures with Superman good but I'm glad for new animations.
