Conker is badass!

screw the haters....Im loving multiplayer right now....

yea i can see how its a bit broken. It seems demolishers/seekers/thermawhatevers OWN. but its still damn fun.

all this game needs is a nice little patch.

its like a 2005 team fortress that needs improvement.

with a patch or two it will pwn alot.

Well, it's not like Sony is striving to set the bar any higher, are they? You goddamned Sony evangelist....
Quit crying =\ What does Sony have to do with it? Their online service is shitty and free. Microsoft is fifty bucks....you'd think that would at least buy a little storage space for people to share small game saves.

Wow, I almost lost 2hr figuring out what to do after you kill the mouse with chesee.
this game is simply gorgeus. :)

Yeah stupid game rewarding you with unlocking something for beating it...bah whats next advancing the story after I beat the last boss...who wants that....

I'm not going to bother playing through the game twice. Only games as stellar as Resident Evil 4 get that sort of attention and that sort of attention is rare. I have way too many games to play.

Gimp the game so I have to play it again? :lol I don't think so.

Or, and here's a REALLY scary thought: You could just PLAY THE FUCKING GAME.

And waste my time playing through it once to get what I want to play in the first place?

:lol

I don't have time like the kiddies do. I have a backlog as is. Conker would be a one play stint, I can tell you that. Now it's a zero play stint. You want to play through to get to the unbleeping, fine. I won't.

Just finished playing about 2 hours.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

This games owns online. My fav levels so far, storm the beach, playing a demolisher..., freaking hell what a blast.

3 towers, with the sky jocky, flying around in the ... steed blowing the hell out of everything!!! One time, we got all the towers, I flew INTO THEIR BASE!!! Then took out the alien thing.... bam, we win. SO killer. 16 player games (I have seen so far) are SMOOTH, no lag at all, no warping, clean voice... awesome.

Oh yea, there is the... starwars like level where you have to blow through these doors, it's like a maze, TOUGH. Can't snipe MY ASS!!! My long ranger was finding a nice parkin gplace in this leve where the squirells were coming out of this one door on their way to the lion heart... HEADS WERE ROLLIN!!! It's tough to snipe sure, but I was NAILING THEM. Damn fun...

Back to the game, had to post quickly. Fucking killer job Rare, thanks!

I'll get around to 1p sometime soon.... uh... back to sniping!!!

LOL@ Conker in the Van Helsing costume. I dont remember that from the original. They definatly added a few cool new things to the single player, but its mostly cosmetic and little extras and nothing that changes the gameplay very much.

This game rocks. Screw the haters.

Granted, I'm only playing single-player right now (want to finish this before trying multiplayer), but I haven't played Bad Fur Day in a long while, and it's great reliving the experience with outstanding graphics (it looks like a Pixar movie) and a remixed orchastraed soundtrack. I just started It's War, and I can't wait to play through the chapter again.

whenever anybody finds or makes a complete conker save to unlock the lanuage let me know.. I just finished setting up my PSP as a memory card for Xbox so I can put saves on it.

I assumed it would take a few days :lol :lol

Thanks

online is awesome dudes. whether it's broken or not i'm not sure (i suck at conker online, i suck at halo 2 online, i suck at every non-sports game online, so they're all broken to me), but i was having a blast. those ninja dudes are awesome. got my head chopped off after they went camo mode

Well, it's for PAL, dunno if you need it for NTSC

Maybe it'll still work.

I'll try it, if not i'm sure someone will upload it shortly

The game owns. It is sad that people are so consumed in the fact that it is initially censored. Over a third of the posts in this thread seem to be over that aspect. Get over it... It is an unlockable feature to uncensor it. I could be satisfied in multiplayer just playing that Beach Dead level over and over.... so much fun....

It won't be the make or break for me to purchase it, however if I can download a save to get the full experience the first time through, then i'll do it.

My god, this game just looks insane singleplayer --- (Next-Gen whaa??!) . To Rare's credit, StarfoxAdventures looked almost as good and ran at higher framerates ..... but damn, Reloaded just looks outstanding...

No matter how good/bad Rare does, they sure do know how to make a hub-world environment ---- so damn vibrant and 'platformy', catches inthe brain It's shallow of me, but I'm fully pumped to be playing such a nice looking version of Conker.

I've put about 4 hours into Live --- man it's suckin' ass, so damn frustrating ....... Doesn't seem like anything that a huge patch can't fix though.
The mayhem is great, but I don't think I've ever played something so unballanced ..... try taking down one of those bomber-ships with the Demolisher's anti-air - I really don't think it can be done.
Players just take way too many hits ---- feels like they're as tough to fight against as a Mech in MechCommander ... someone can take a beating, then come rocket your ass.

I played one mission that had my team (for a solid 15 min) blocked off in our base as 4 enemy planes shot rockets through the entrance .... there was no way out, and setting up the ant-air turrets didn't do crap (I've never seen them shoot at anythin')

... for some strange reason it's still fun, I'll give it more hours.

Is there a cheat to get it unlocked?

If not, this is a definite NO BUY.

So having actual cusswords will make you buy a game, but no cusswords and all of a sudden its shit? Thats the stupidest standard for a game purchase ever devised by man or beast. Go hang your head in shame and never game again.

So is this really the most technically outstanding (graphics) console game this generation, or was it false advertising?

Sammy.... I was one of those airships outside shootin:) That was seriously fun from my side!!

Unbalanced is a perspective, I played another game in that level, and there were 4 steeds... 2 per side. While we were fucking playing crimson skies (and I mean bloooooody), the rest of the teams were dealing with getting the towers. Tanks (demolisher can drive) were also picking us off pretty good.

So far, I don't really understand the snow level, and have trouble on the star wars level, but the rest are a BLAST. I have had good luck as a sniper (long ranger), demolisher, sneeker, and thrmo.. flame dude:).... The game feels REALLY deep. I was messing around with the sneeker... and I was able to TURN OFF the other teams vehicle spawner, I had to hack it, it took about 15 seconds... but they were'nt around:)... Then we rolled in with tanks and birds, and DOMINATED the rest of the level. KILLER idea.

As for 1 player, the beeping is a JOKE. When you hear FU - beep CK... it's pretty fucking obvious what is being said. What, some words are going to make the game for you???? You want swearing DUMB FUCKING ASS HOLES.... just read the gaf:)

I also just played about 15 minutes of the 1p, got to the cheese level. DAMN, it's so beautiful, so great to play a platformer like this again.

Seriously folks. You a Gamer???? Don't let this killer game pass you by again.

The game looks fantastic, but it's not the visual benchmark. Psychonauts and Stranger's Wrath looked technically just as good, if not better.

I was jonzin for this sumbitch for a while after going apeshit over the N64 version....but, even though it's beautiful and they added some different lines here and there, it plays just like the N64 version and that just doesn't cut it these days (the multiplayer doesn't interest me). They could have polished up the gameplay a bit to make it less frustrating (falling off ledges is too easy and kills you instantly, not always clear what to do next, etc.). This game is a classic on the N64. On the XBOX, it feels like I'm playing the same antiquated game with a new skin. I expected more. I'd rather play this than the N64 version without a doubt, but not for 50 f'n samoleans. :(

...although the poo song is worth 20 bucks by itself.

WoW this game sure is unbalanced lol.

i hope rare pumps out a patch soon.

Demolishers are the noob friendly lamers.

and the Map where you have to keep breaking thru the fence (its like a world war 2 map)
the map is so broken just because the tediz can stand on the high towers and shoot at rockets at you then move back just a little bit so u cannot hit them being that u are very low on the ground and far away.....while they are high up just throwing rockets at you.

lol, who ever designed that map is a tard, they shouldnt have let them get on top of the towers like that.

plus sneekers can hop over the fence somehow after like maybe 5 jumps (which is obviously not meant to be).

:lol ---- Honestly, it really brought my team together haha .... Good show, it had been a while since a game frustrated me so.

I think you're right, it seems extremely deep --- I get the itch to go play more Conker, even with BF2 sitting in front of me ( Frustrating Rockets >>>> Stuttering Glitchfest )

The online really needs practice, guys get a few Bot hours in just to let it sink.

.nope.
though I would argue that their art-direction is more appealing .. (It works in Rare's favor that Conker is a satire.)

You nailed my feelings exactly....well, except for the psychonauts comparison. I was expecting the gameplay and controls to be refined.

Very nice empressions from you freaks.:) I *Must* trade a few games first though,I hope EB or Software Etc. had a decent trade in deal going on right now. This'll be great to play since I just renewed my Xbox Live account last week, another gem to play over the service.

Interesting thing about Rare, and this game specifically in this case. The game doesn't look to be the "technically" best looking, Riddick, Doom 3, SC... win there. Nor is it the holder of the best art style, stranger and psyco seem to have cooler style.

But it's still... DAMN it looks good. It's just freaking beautiful; and for some hard to describe reason, AMAZING looking!

It's pretty cool Sammy to have a killer game, then come in here and hear about the other side of the story. We were laughing pretty hard. One of your team managed to get the sky shooter thing setup, which distracted us for a bit, then got a steed... just as time ran out. I think you can shoot missiles out of the red barrier, and we can't shoot in as well.

As you say, I'm getting ready for bed (early morn tomorrow)... sitting here wondering why I didn't have just one more go!

wtf, does sammy and jodark work for rare?

anyways, so far, i love and hate this game. i love it cause its conker, and i love conker but the imba craziness in Multiplayer is ridicules.

it was fun at first but now its like, eh.

I always have a voice in my head saying "viral marketer" after reading game impressions on message boards. Just to remind myself of the possibility.

Picked this up earlier today. I've only played the single player, and only for a short bit, but so far I'm a little disapointed with some of the changes from the N64 version:

-- Loading; knew it would be there, but could it happen any more often than what it does? If a cutscene takes place in a different area, loading. Go to new room, loading. I must have ran across 10 load points so far and I'm only just getting to the barn area. Load times are only 5-6 seconds, but their frequency combined with that ugly WW2 looking load screen makes them very annoying. Really breaks up the flow of the game. Rare could have at least had load screens specific to each area.

-- Did they really need to have dual analog control for the melee attack? Sucks the fun right out of it IMO. It wasn't in the WW2 demo so I hope it goes away later. On a related note, why all the new aliens in those metal shells? I must have ran into a dozen new ones so far.

-- Why not let Conker fall into the water in the area with the Gargoyle? Instead it's a fade to black and dump him back at the top of the area. A minor nit-pick but still a step back from the N64 version.

-- The first person view instead of the over-the-shoulder style from the N64. Again a minor nit-pick that doesn't take too much away, but is still a step back from the original. It wasn't in the demo either, but I was hoping that it would be in the final version.

On the bright side, the graphics and sound are very nice. It's right up there with the best looking games from this gen.

So posting impressions of a new game is ... viral... um, ok...

the swearing shit cracks me up. Freaking hell, what, you can't figure out what they are saying???

Anyway. I haven't hosted yet, so I don't know what you can set up exactly, but I have played games with ALL demolishers, and some where there can only be a few. These games feel really balanced, where that all demo/too many demo games are more... frantic:) unbalanced?? not like a stud with a rocket launced and the sword... Slicing demo's heads is fun:) That class is fun to blow shit up, but they are SLOW. The sneaker on the other hand.... QUICK!!!

Loading is a pain, and although I love the cinemsa, there are so.... SO many at the beginning of the game.

Can't wait to see the new drac level with Van helsing suit. Shot guns to zombie heads was a blast on the 64, should look a bit better now:)

pfft, i pwned enough sneekers with demo.

and its not just demo

it seems sneeker/demo/thermawhatever(flamethrower guys) are the strongest classes in this game and they basically poop on the other classes (demolisher being the strongest)

and that one Map where u start out on the beach and have to infiltrate the tediz area by blowing up the fence..etc....is so broken for the tediz.

MP needs some more polish.

I think it's just the fact that it's a bit insulting that they locked it off in the name of replay "value," even showing the option ahead of time, but graying it out. If they're going to include unblocked cussing in the game as an option, you should be able to pick it for the first time through. It's not like bleeping it for the first run lowers their ESRB rating (ironic that they went back and bleeped more of the cursing than the N64 version initially), and it'd be nice for previous Conker fans to go back through this new quest without that auditory protection to make things a little different, but now, they'd have to go through the game a second time just to unlock the cursing for a supposed _third_ playthrough? True, there's going to be a lot of new people playing this version, but they're not going to understand why cursing was blocked off... And for old fans... definitely a trivia quiz or something to earn the option right off the bat. Something people who've played the game would know (but then again, it might be listed up on sites like GameFAQs, and be quite a spoiler)...

Plus, they went from first introing this game as the "uncut, raunchy version" to "slightly easier N64 port with more initial bleeping, but if you aren't tired of the jokes after one or two playthroughs, you get the honor of playing through it again, but without a few cusswords being bleeped. It'll be like a whole new experience!" It could've been a nice extra "newness" push for N64 gamers who previously supported the series, now it's something they have to slog through to earn, will probably try for about two seconds, and then give up on. I'm really kind of bummed, given how long they've worked on this game, how little I've heard they changed. They really polished up some things that preexisted (I don't remember Conker chattering so much when I played the Jade Empire demo's run up the beach), but they also dulled a few jokes (the squirrels all looking gruff in the beach demo, Conker's glass being changed to a goblet, which someone told me messes up a Clockwork Orange joke that the original sequence had, and
Enter the Vertex is missing some shots and doesn't look "right" compared to the original N64 level for some reason
), and there was so much more talked about being removed from the N64 version that just wasn't put back in like we thought it'd be. I was hoping the single player adventure would be a bit like Conker 1.5, not quite a sequel, but a fair amount of new content mixed in (maybe to make up for the huge imbalance with It's War being such a long and important part of the game compared to some of the other short areas...
Enter the Vertex was excellent and could've easily been expanded, for example.

I've played up to the beginning of the "spooky" storyline; loving Conker on Xbox as much as I loved it on N64. There's been virtually nothing new so far, other than a few small changes to the very beginning, and now when you start fighting the undead, Conker looks like
Van Helsing.
:)

I can't complain about a lack of new content, howver, since the multiplayer seems to be completely redone from what I remember of the N64 version. I didn't like it at first, but I do see the potential for some fun games, plus there's single player mode to add even more levels to the original game, even if you aren't playing as Conker.

And Conker may be the best-looking Xbox game out there; it's certainly at the top of the list with games like DOA Ultimate, but I look at the cut scenes and my jaw hits the floor...some of them look so much like CG movies, but it's real time...it's crazy. The level I just got to (
"haunted house"
looks stunning; I actually had to stop and stare at how amazing everything looked, which is not something I usually do in most games.

the map is so broken just because the tediz can stand on the high towers and shoot at rockets at you then move back just a little bit so u cannot hit them being that u are very low on the ground and far away.....while they are high up just throwing rockets at you.

You learned nothing from Obi-Wan!

I really wanted to love the game, but it just has too many problems for it to be a classic game. For every WOW moment there was a "Why the hell did they put this part in here" moment.

Anyway, if anyone wants to read exactly what I thought, my review is here.

This is one of the best looking games I've ever played. Amazing. Looks far better than Psychonauts or Oddworld (two games I love) technically.

Also....screw the apologists, playing this game with a competent controller is heaven.

Don't like the little loading screens between cut scenes, though their faster than many disc based games. Don't like the lack of feedback in Bot games. Shooting feedback.

Wish my live connection was working so I could try it on LIVE.

LOL ! that was the best part! --- while you dudes were rocketing away I tried to test that out and misile from behind the barrier ....... with all my guys standing next to me apparently.

My screen just filled with -5's all over ---- My dead temates were pissed ..... rockets apparently don't make it through barriers on the inside :lol

Fixed2BeBroken, Cerrius: Viral Marketing? --- In my first post I said the multiplayer 'sucks-ass' ............ that I still beleive, but I keep goin' back to it...

Reading is fundamental Schafer. Read the rest of my posts.

Quite frankly, I don't give a damn if you think it's stupid or not. My money. My decision.

It's damn crazy how unballanced the Steed is right now! (I guess 'till people figure out how to take it down..)

But I just ranked up 127 kills in a mission I spent flying the Steed the whole time ---- the next person 2nd to me only had 73 kills! :lol

I am glad to hear so many good impressions of this game, I was getting a little worried by all the other threads, although the multiplayer still worries me a little.
