Resized the USB-exported (PS4 share button) screenshots in Photoshop to 1280x720 and saved as *.png.
Tried to compensate for the rather high jpg compression of the original screens as well as the slightly closer camera in console D3 with assets not designed for that

I like imgur as image host more, but while it doesn't re-encode png it doesn't allow png over 1 MB it seems (converts them to jpg) :/

I think the resized PNG looks the best IQ wise, interestingly I see the biggest difference between the the 720p PNG and the 720p jpg on imgur.
Edit: resized jpg on minus basically looks as good as the PNG and is half its size, so that's more efficient then.

Converting a JPEG image to PNG just makes it weight more bytes on your hard drive, though.
What's wasted by JPEG compression is lost forever, you won't gain any quality doing this.

You do when you downscaled them. The resized "meta" file will have more information in a loss-less format than if I save them again as lossy jpg. (but yeah, it was primarily to avoid the re-conversion by imgur, but as mentioned that only works for pngs under 1 MB...)

edit: added the resized jpg to minus for the comparison and yeah you're right, there's basically no difference to the PNG. So I guess the morale of the story is to use minus

Heh. It really is too much. I know people think it looks good in Sci-FI but NO. Honestly it just hurts my eyes.

There's still a bit more aliasing than I would have expected but... what can you do. Probably looks fine from normal couch-TV distance.

Loved the dynamic shadows of the opening level. It looked so nice.

And Venus is so gorgeous. I managed to get this one without the HUD by snapping it right after exiting the menus.

I also did a little photoshop magic on it to get rid of the reticule just for fun.

Yeah, it definitely looks like Destiny's AA was improved for the final build. I remember the alpha/beta looking slightly blurrier than the shots on this page.
