I mean, the first Control had a $30 Million budget and sold 4 Million units, I thing that's considered successful.
Alan Wake 2 on the other hand, well, more than twice the budget and half the sales so yeah, the blame could be on Epic but still that's not good.

Control starts dull but after unlocking some powers it becomes very fun, I really liked this game in the end. Only big complaint from me is that everything looks the same and story is complete nonsense.
I felt like control never remotely lived up to the premise and mining of SCP fiction. It was just so conservative. Granted it had a small budget but they got too bogged down in the organizational framing as opposed to the conceptual possibilities.
Control 2 isn't published by Epic but it's co-funded by Remedy and Annapurna so EGS exclusivity is less likely. Alan Wake Remastered and Alan Wake II aren't temporary exclusives, Epic funded their development from day 1 and has publishing rights to these two games
I just hope that they stay true to the first game's gameplay.
I was not a fan of the gameplay change from Alan Wake 1 to 2. 2 plays so much worse and feels so unresponsive compared to the first game. generally Alan Wake 2 in terms of game feel/responsiveness is worse than any other Remedy title.
so I really hope Control won't have the same fate.
