Could you survive just watching Nathan Fillion TV shows for the rest of your life?

So I was rewatching Firefly recently (something I once promised I'd do annually but a bad Browncoat am I) and then pivoted to The Rookie and as a watcher of Castle from back in the day and even that very short lived but cool Drive show, it occurs to me that I could probably spend the rest of my life just watching his stuff and not feel to bad about things. Throw in his cameos, short stuff like Dr. Horrible or Con Men, not to mention the films, and I think you could live life happy with his IMDB page.

Any one else feel the same about him? Or who would you put up as a singular "I can watch his stuff forever" (we'll just take Tom Selleck out of consideration :P actor?

do I have the option of not watching any TV shows at all? if so, sure. I had not really watch any shows for a while so I'm good even if I'm restricted to only something I don't care about. and that's not any jab at Mr. Fillion. I actually like him and a lot of his performance. I just never really care about the shows that's under his belt.

I liked Firefly just fine but there's not enough of it. Dr Horrible was great and all.. but I don't know, never tried watching his cop show(s)? Is Castle a cop? Does he do cop things? See I don't even know man.

No way.

Firefly is GOAT tier, but the rest is pretty meh. Especially The Rookie. I don't know how that show is still going while Firefly got one season.

Nothing is great forever when it is the only thing you consume.

It can be cheese on toast, but it's good natured overall and good characters

Unlike a lot of mean spirited guff on TV these days.
Yeah, I'm watching it now and despite all the "woke" stuff in it, since it was "pre-woke" it isn't nearly as preachy. A fairly feel-good cop show with a fair amount of action, some good looking ladies, and a bit of humor. Castle was the same way, it's comfort TV of the best sort. Curious to see if/how the tone changes when it starts reacting to covid, BLM, and all that.

Going back to Firefly, that also had "woke" stuff in it and the dialogue style now has been so imitated it is extra cheesy but still the heart and vibe of that cast is unparalleled.

Oh god yes, a couple of episodes, was it at the end of the 2nd or 3rd season? Were a bit eye browse raising in terms of 'modern' sensibilities :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I was a bit miffed Jackson left, I thought he had a good arc, then I read why he left.. Oh my..

I thought Nyla coming into it would be a bit pants and thought she'd be written poorly but she ended up being one of my favourite characters. And her always reaching for the M4, no matter the situation will never not be funny! I'd be the same..

Yeah, I really enjoy it. I'll definitely check out Castle if it's in the same vein.

And I loved Firefly!

I don't think there's any one actor whose work I would solely want to watch for the rest of my life. He's also not been in a top-tier show for me. So that would count against him for this.

Season 3 is the woke season and I'm pretty sure almost killed the show. They got back on track after that though.

Even buffy, King of the hill, American dad, santa clarita diet, community, brooklyn nine nine, modern family?

Nope, Firefly is too short, Castle jumped the shark multiple times and the last few seasons were more or less hate-watching, The Rookie went super woke in later seasons.

Nathan was great in some guest star roles on other shows, like Caleb from Buffy. Not very lucky with shows where he's the lead or one of the co-leads. Castle was probably his best chance, but the writers of the show ruined it at some point (and then ruined it again and again). Plus he and the other lead apparently started hating each other in real life.

Probably not. He's a good performer, but not that good.
He has the ability to sound dubbed over and slightly out of sync at some points when acting. Apart from that I like him as an actor and if he is in something I will not mind watching it.

I can see that, now that you mention it, lol. He's a good actor with great charisma, but I can't really look up to him too much because I hear he's a bit of a douche IRL.

He is great at cons, but yeah, who really knows. He seems pretty quiet about his private life in general when he could easily be tearing it up in the tabloids. That canadian chill, I suppose :P

I'd count in the Uncharted. Playing A Thief's End I kept seeing him literally as Drake in many scenes. ND took some seriously heavy inspiration there.

You can see it already in season 1. Almost every bad guy is white. There is a distinct lack of latinos across the board and waaaaay more women in the LAPD than there should be (especially for the . Almost every woman wins her fight with a guy or at least gets in a hit to make the bad guy easier to take down and show she wasn't a total victim.

Still, it's in the background for the most part but when binging the show that stuff stands out a bit more.

Remember that Uncharted fan short-movie that actually did have him as Nathan Drake, and it was awesome and entirely better than the actual full movie they made?

He is charismatic but no and no to any charismatic actor in the same question

Variety..

I've seen him glaze for wacky/scammy tech start-ups like 'solar roadways' and other stuff.
Nothing too bad imo.

I have refused to watch any Fillion shows since they canceled firefly. I sit in protest.

To be more specific, what I'm referring to is actually his presence at cons. I know some people who organize conventions and they told me they don't enjoy working with him. To be fair, it's just hearsay and should be taken with a grain of salt, but I haven't met anyone else yet who refutes any of it, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, I'm sure he has a list of requirements, and unlike say, Gil Gerard who seems to live off of con $$$, Fillion has an UNGODLY amount of Castle money so getting him to show up is gonna take work. At least the times I've seen him though he was engaged and charming, unlike some who were fairly surly or outright drunk.

I notice you didn't mention his "Friends" type 90s sitcom, Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place.

I dont even regularly watch shows with him in them (like hes showed up ince or twice in rick and morty but i cant think of anything else ive seen him in i watch)

The only thing he's in I bother with is Halo (the games, not the show)

Edit: oh right, destiny, I forgot he's Cade in Destiny
