We have one more significant release planned for the month of January, which will be focused on Counter-Strike: Source.

First, we're going to release the Counter-Strike: Source version of the CS Bot. This will be an improved version of the Condition Zero bot, and will be available for all owners of Counter-Strike: Source. Right now we're planning this for sometime early the week of the 17th. Also included is a remade version of the Condition Zero map, de_tides, rebuilt by Turtlerock Studios.

Going into February, there will be a release of a new Counter-Strike: Source map by Valve level designer Dave Riller. It's a smaller hostage rescue map with the focus on close quarters fighting. This map is still being play tested, and we're looking forward to seeing what the community thinks of it.

There are a number of other things we're working on at Valve right now that we aren't quite ready to talk about, but our resolution for the new year is to keep the community more informed about what's ahead. To that end, there will be a weekly Steam message (like this one) to give people and idea of what we're working on.

Hey Valve, how about converting Nuke and Inferno over to CS:S so I might have some motivation to play it again...

Excellent, DE_TIDES is one of the best CZ maps, really good layout and i can actually get away with using my shotgun as it's got a lot of really up close fire fights (especially at the start when the half the team always rushes under/over that bridge). Promise of an actual new map are always good. bots are cool even though i'd only ever use them when i can't connect to the net.

I really like the way Valve says it's going to infrom us weekly of what's happening inside of Valve. Wish it wouldn't open everything i click in IE though.

I'm seriously going to end up buying HL2 just for CS. And then I'll get addicted to it again, and the vicious cycle will start all over again, and have it's way with me for the next few years.

How are the bots? anyone?

If they are the same as CS:CZ they are fun, but not exactly smart. At higher levels expect a lot of instant headshots. I usually play 1 v 5 normal or hard, good target practice.

I can't take this 1 map a month shit. At this rate it'll take a year to get all the CS1.6 maps.

They said they would release maps right when they are done, but it doesn't take this long to port maps. Not to mention the new models they promised in Dec are still MIA.

Get to work then slackass.

that's one of the maps being worked on at the moment. it will be released eventually.

There is a cs_assault_lith. Basically a direct port for the most part. It gives me my assault fix, but it's ugly.
