Craaaazyyy question~but any ideas how well the GC Modem/BBA sold?

Isn't there an NPD spreadsheet just for this sort of thing? I doubt we'll know anyone who subscribes though... tho ya never know

We could always start counting from square one!

I have 2 BBAs.

:(

What a total waste of money. I got lots of PSO out of one of them, 2 games of 8 player Mario Kart and a really shit experience on Warp Pipe. Result!

Probably around 200,000, assuming everybody who bought PSO also bought an adapter, and then some ppl who bought for the promise of future online games.

I'd estimate less than 100,000 for BBAs, and less than 25,000 for Modem Adapters. The real PSO numbers were 180,000, and I doubt less than half ever played online.

PSO Ep. 1 & 2 has sold around 190k copies and PSO Ep. 3 sold around 40k in America alone. Ep 1 & 2 managed around 160k in Japan as well -- I'd say it's a very conservative estimate to say there are at least 250k modems/BBAs worldwide.

The only numbers I heard were 30% of all PSOs were played online, and that was back when it came out for the GC in 2002.

I wonder how the people who bought it at launch and don't play PSO are thinking right now.
They're thinking..."It sure is awesome pirating GameCube games with this thing!"

I remember reading on Gamepro.com (when they had the Famitsu deal going on) that around 65k bundles of the game + adapter were sold in the first few weeks alone in Japan.

190,000 in the US alone? Sheesh there was never even close to that many people online even when the game was still fresh and new. I still play PSO so I've been wondering where in the world these people are~

I had no idea people were still playing. I had my HL active right until November but the last time I played online was with PSO3, in September.

I wish Blue Burst would come out on the GCN. I know I'd renew.

Yeah a buncha people are still playing and the recent quests even brought some back. We could always use more players though ^_^!
