Very peculiar.

That original document, the one you quoted, is by far one of the most hillariously pathetic things I've ever read. How people could keep lapping that shit up I'll never know.

I don't know if any of you here have an affinity for ghost shows like I do, I know they're fake but man I love them. One in particular that I've recently become enamored with is Ghost Adventures. It's great because the guys are total bros. They also do their best to get ghosts to attack them, which usually results in them screaming into the blackness with random taunts. :lol

I think the strangest thing I know of that happened to a friend of mine was while she was driving through Golden Gate Park in San Francisco late at night. She got pulled over by a cop and was given a ticket. A few days later she went to the police station to pay off the ticket but they said that they didn't have her ticket in their computer. They were also looking up the officer's number in their computer but there was no record of the officer ever working for the police. It was definitely strange although there are supposedly many ghost stories told about the park.

I hope this here isnt a repost:
There were some journalist who asked some natives about some sort of cave. They said there would live an ancient creature that would kill everybody. The journalist called one friend and said to him that he will go to this cave searching for this creature. The friend tried to call him back (1 day after the phone call) but nobody accepted the phone call. So he called the police to search for him. The Police found the journalist dead in the cave (his body was ripped apart) with the camera. They searched all the pictures and they have found this:

WTF, any links ?

tiny eye to the rescue:

I am a Muslim-Turkish journalist from Istanbul.

I am mailing you the true story of famous "faked" jinn picture on the
net. I catched this famous cave monster from his leg in a show cave near
Bristol-England!

It is NOT the satan, or jinn, or another bizzare thing. It is only a
silly sculpture made by hard-plastic for only touristic attraction and
fun.

The Muslim world believes this silly joke for years. I was researching
the backside of this internet myth for one year and I arrived the truth
last December.

When I was much younger and if I was upstairs alone I would swear that there was something watching me and I'd shit myself running down the stairs thinking it was chasing me. This would happen very often. I'd most often call someone from downstairs to come up and accompany me.
When telling this to friends many years later they said that their own children have the same feelings (different house in different region).
Is this a common experience or could this be put down to age / haunting?
I was about 9 - 10 at the time.

Very strange! Thanks for posting.

Edit: The rest of the snippets on that page are fucking weird too. I'd like to read that book.
James Larkins and his dog have been wandering in the Queensland outback for hours. James has been drinking for days, and his hangover is now baking under the intense midday sun. There is no water, no shade. Mad with thirst, he digs in the soil for water, but the earth is thirsty, too. He would do anything, he thinks, for any moisture at all. He looks at his dog. There is blood inside of her – a pint, maybe two. He takes out his pocket knife...

wtf? :/

On a lighter note, this thread still rocks! Keep it up guys.

"DUDE! I TOTALLY JUST GOT HIT, LIKE, ON THE BACK OF MY NECK. I AM FRRREEEEAKING OUT RIGHT NOW. HOLY S*&!" "That's messed up, man. That's MESSED UP"

Yeah I watch Ghost Hunters mostly, for some reason. I find it weirdly relaxing or something, while I vainly hold out hope they'll some day find something remarkable. I think a lot of people have difficult-to-explain experiences, and I'm not entirely closed to the idea of there being some currently unknown phenomena behind it, but the prevalence of these ghost-hunting shows is actually encouraging my skepticism. Hundreds of hours of footage between them in famously haunted locations and still nothing truly compelling. A weird shadow on video, some creepy audio once in a great while, that's it. They're informative in a way they don't intend to be.

The Ghosthunters episode with the civil war soldier showing up on the thermal camera was so awesome. That was one episode where you seriously had to wonder.

I remember one Ghost Hunters episode where they were chasing something up the lighthouse stairs and it kept peeking over the railing at them. That freaked me out.

One thing I dont like about that show is the use of music. Especially when they hear something, youll hear the corny "ooo this is scary" music in the background and never actually hear what they hear. I also wish theyd wear front facing cameras on their heads or something because sometimes they see something and then we get to watch as the jerky cameraman tries to catch it but never does.

That's because they're totally making that shit up.

I don't doubt they truly believe in ghosts, and I don't think they tamper with their footage either. But when you've got an hour show to fill with footage of literally nothing happening, you better believe they're gonna start "seeing a shadow" off camera or hearing some sound or feeling a tap on their shoulder.

The lighthouse episode was one of their best and did have some freaky stuff in it. But again, not quite enough to put any doubt aside.

It's also kind of annoying that Grant and Jason refuse to talk about the apparently traumatic experiences they had that made them believers. Not for nothing, guys, but you started a career around going into other peoples homes and looking for ghosts.. fess up!

*whine*

I just looked up the ep I was talking about and it seems it's been debunked completely... it was Grant's own thermal reflection :/ :\ :|

Welp, I'm back into skeptic mode. That was the one thing that kept me wondering.

Huh, interesting. I don't know why, but I have a hard time to believe any of those alien encounters. For me it's easier to believe any ghost story or demon encounter or something like that.

So its easier to belive in a soul of dead a person or a demonic entity then it is alien life? Or do you mean alien encouters/abduction in which case you have a point as even though i am convinced we will find other life out there i doubt they have kidnapped people and such.

Oh, I believe that there's life out there. It's just the encounters or abductions that I can't take seriously. It's interesting that most of the more or less believable stories are from the 50's or 60's.

I also find it funny that many really think that intelligent Life-Forms that mastered space travel come to earth to hide behind trees and stick things into our asses :lol

Nice thread, I like the topic and I also have a story to share.

I would put this into the "UFO" category but perhaps someone, say Tonay, would say it is something natural and that it happens every day...

Anyways, this is back in the summer of 1997, in southern sweden (Blekinge for you swedes). During the summer period, there used to be (not sure if its still going on) a festival in a smaller city called Carlshamn, a bit from where my girlfriends mother was living. Anyways, we took a nightbus to go back home to her mother. Her mother lives really out by the countryside, so we had to walk quite a bit from the bus-station to home.

The time was a bit before 3am and we were walking through a bit of a forest, and then it opened up so it became like a medow. On the other side of the medow, like let say 200 meters (like 650 feet), the forest began again.

Now, in front of the forest ahead of us, we saw a sphere like object, white in color, hovering around in a very controlled manner. Basically it made like 90 degree movements, like.. moved a bit to the left, stop, move up a bit, stop, move to the right, stop.. etc.. very controlled. So we stopped and stood and watched this thing move around for like 2-3 minutes when suddenly, it decided to stop, and started to like "shake" a bit.. and then, without a sound, it flew up to the sky in such a crazy fast speed...

everything was very silent, we did not hear anything from its movements or from when it decided to fly up to home (or wherever it went)...

And before someone asks if there was alcohol involved, back then, I did not drink anything at all (we both were 17)..

I have never seen something like this again (unfortunately).. but I cannot consider it to be something that has a natural explanation.. but then again, je ne suis pas Tonay & co.. (no offense right? )

I remember there was a video of a guy in an old house, using night vision on the camera, and he starts in one room, looks at a closet, then hears something so he goes across the hallway.

As he pans around the room, something TALL AS FUCK crouches down out of the closet and looks right at the camera/him and him and his buddy book it down the stairs and out of the house.

Does anyone remember what this is called/have the video?

Edit: found it: Barton Mansion Ghost/Demon. The screen captures are scary as hell, and the "closet" it came out of was only like a teapot holding counter area not more than 8-12inches deep. What. the. hell.

Consider yourself lucky, I barely got two hours of sleep last night after I retold my story :'(

I have stories from my great grandparents, grandparents, my own parents and myself that would freak you guys out... I don't know if it is right to share them... I'll get to them for sure.

In the mean time, that picture thing is freaky... Reminds of Goosebump's doll story. freaky..

Ok here goes nothing.

Great Grandfather and my Grandfather from my Father's side:

Story 1:
My Grandfather told the family this story that this actually happened to him back when he was a few years old. My grandfather's older brothers any my great grandmother all have attested to this story to be 100% true. Back in the 1930s, when fruits and vegetables used to be a seasonal event. My Great grandparents lived in the city of Gujranwala, Pakistan(present). Anyway it was said that great grandfather used to have a djinn in his control. This djinn was good djinn and did not harm to anyone. Well one day my grandfather, who was only about 10 years old was having hissy fit that he wanted bunch of grapes. But it was not grape season at all. My Great grandmother took my grandfather to his father and told him that your youngest son wants grapes! But you know this is no grape season and it won't be for a while. Well the story goes likes this from what I remember exactly. My great grandfather told his wife to leave and close all doors. He then asked my grandfather what he wanted. My grandfather quickly replied grapes. My great grandfather then said close your eyes and put your hands over them. He then said some words to something according to my grandfather as some gentle wind had entered the room with everything still closed and no noise of any doors opening or windows or anything this as they were on the 2nd floor of their home. Then great grandfather told my grandfather to open his eyes. My grandfather was surprised to see so many different types of grapes that some were not even found in market place. He ate many as he could.... My grandfather still insists those grapes were the best grapes ever he has had in his whole life.

Story 2:

Another story of great grandfather and the djinn is this that djinn once moved a huge apple tree from some place in the world and placed it in the center of the mosque. The djinn did this as a practical joke and thought my great grandfather will enjoy the fruit from it, but my great grand father did not like it. My great grandfather had to yell at the djinn and return it back or everyone would get scared as to where that this tree came from. Djinn obeyed the command although from what I've been told that he insisted it was for him. But my greatgrandfather said it would scare the normal folks and the folks from the people who you took it from.

Well anyway, as of right now that room, is off limits to all of us to go in there during the night or day. Personally I never been in the room, but they have reasons as to why to keep the door locked and closed.

Grandfather/Grandmother/Aunt/Uncle stories from my Mother side:

Story 1:

My Grandfather was in the military and he would be stationed in all weird and strange type of areas in Pakistan. One of these instance was that my maternal grandparents were stationed at an old farmland next to a swampy area. There they were living in an old home of course that was near the swamp.

The old home contained about 4 bedrooms. What they first did was have all guys sleeping in one room and all the girls and women sleeping in another. My grandparents had their own room as well. As it was the cold months, they allowed the baby chicks to be in another room so that they could raise them. After each night in the following days after arriving to that place - they would find all the chicks head twisted with no blood or anything. During the same time my uncle and aunt have swore that each night they felt like some huge hands were tickling them. But when the woke up they would not see anything but just the wind blowing. Then the following nights, my grandmother in her dreams would see weird man that would say please remove the chicks. Also at the sametime, my grandmother and visions that of bad things could occur to your children if you leave them in their rooms.

Then for the next 6 months, my grandparents, aunts and uncles all stayed in one room.. They thanked God that they did not die or something leaving that place.

Lastly when they were moving from that place. My uncle has said they dropped something going up the hill. As it rolled back to the place where they came from. They did not want to go back. They continued on over the hill and to the other side. To their surprise they found what they thought had rolled back was right in front of them. Very spooky.

Another instance on their way back was that. Some strangers were having a wedding and gave them some sweets, which they checked when they received it. They looked and smelled like sweets. My grandparents gladly took them. But when their arrived to their new destination to open the sweets again to have taste. It was filled with manure... Strange.

My Father:

When my Father was in Scotland. One night he was crossing a street at night. All of a sudden he saw fast moving car approaching. Scared as to what was happening. He just stood there frozen in shock. He prayed that it was going to be it. He did his final prayers and closed his eyes. Few seconds had passed and nothing had happened. My Father opened his eyes and the whole street was pitch black as if nothing has happened. There was no sign of the car. There was no place car could have turned or anything. It was one of the most strangest thing to happen to my Father in his early age.

This is just tip of the ice burg on the some of the other stories that have occurred. I'll post more tomorrow.

Yeah.. am I missing something? I can barely see anything, but can sort of make out a blurry guy holding a lantern? Gotta say a ghost holding an electric lantern or flashlight isn't exactly filling me with spectral dread.

I guess I should add my own story as well. When I was somewhere around 10ish years old, I was in my older brother's car on the way back home from the movies. As we entered our neighborhood (we lived on a lake in South Carolina...very woodsy neighborhood) I noticed a light or some sort of object in my passenger side rear view mirror as were turned a corner. I only got a glimpse of it, but it freaked me out because I knew it wasn't the moon. Anyways, I started to look around but didn't see anything until we got back to our house. Once we pulled up next to the house, I jumped out of the car and told my brother to start looking in the sky to see if he could see anything. Sure enough down the street, just over the trees we see this cigar/blimp looking object hover and move slowly just over the tree line. It freaked the utter snot out of me. It was totally lit up, but not shiny...sort of like a dull light bulb. The light was totally self contained in the sense that it didn't shine like the sun or something. It also had a few lights around it. But the crazy thing was that it was totally silent...just moved along over the trees. My brother ran after it and I ran inside the house and started yelling to my sister that my brother is about to get taken by aliens (I was like..10..and out of my mind by what I saw..haha). My brother said it moved over the lake and then just ...disappeared. There was a small report in the newspaper the next morning how other people saw this unidentified object around our area. No one knew what it was.

The crazy thing was that several years later my mom and I were having a conversation about stuff when we started talking about the lake house and I brought up how I saw that object. She never said this to me when I was younger, but she said at some other night at the lake house, she was standing on our deck in the back and saw the exact same object in the same area. She had no idea what it was but as we both described what we saw...it totally matched up. I'm not sure why she didn't tell me at the time..probably because she didn't want to scare me as a kid. But it was definitely...interesting.

I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't look like anything I've seen man-made. Whether it was an alien craft...some sort of secret military whatever..who knows. Either way, it was definitely as unidentified as you can get as far as a flying object is concerned.

I find these stories of UFOs interesting because I never saw them, so I find it hard to believe there's something like that out there somewhere. But there is too much smoke, so there should be some fire to produce it.

Ugh. Don't feel bad man. It's just those Barton mansion boys, the fakingest fakes who ever did fake. I came across their site years ago and it was genuinely fun and interesting at the time, until it just got more and more ridiculous as fans tried to pry more info from them off their forum and then they started selling home printed DVDs of their trip into the mansion, and thats the clip that materialized as their supposed proof. But yeah, that super blurry, totally staged looking clip is supposed to be proof of the supposed "entity" that resides in the mansion. It's just a dude in a sheet wearing a cheap mask coming out of a closet, I don't know how you could think otherwise.

Not to be a Tonay, but the idea that ghosts could exist, and in that form is just . . . you might as well think Boos exist.

Exactly. I always figured ghosts (if they did exist) would just exist as some abstract shape, as a pure life-force energy as they had no physical body to Inhabit anymore.

i'm not superstitious or really believe in any weird things of this. but i did have one weird thing happen to me that i still don't quite understand. seems to crazy to be a dream/nightmare.

about a year ago i was in bed sleeping. then i remember waking up to this uncomfortable overpowering feeling in my chest.. it was like butterflies in my stomach except in a bad way. i don't know what you call it. i opened my eyes and everything in my room was red. like a weird color of red i had never seen before. it was like a blood red, but illuminated the room like a glowstick (the same type of blinding brightness of looking at a green glowstick in pitchblack). then i tried to yell to my roommate jesse and all that could come out was this freaky fucking growling sound. i don't really remember what happened in the next 30 or more seconds after, but everything was moving so quickly in my head.

then all the sudden it just stopped. then i layed in my bed, didn't move a muscle and just stared at my ceiling until my alarm clock went off a few hours later.

i feel like it could have just been a convincing nightmare, but it was just scary because i don't remember waking up a second time.... and that feeling was just so surreal.

anyway. thats my addition to this.

*edit* also, that growling sound... i've tried reproducing it before, but i can not get the right pitch or tone. it was nothing i can pull off.

It sounds like sleep paralysis. I see a lot of people of gaf have it. It scares the shit out of me.

Man, even the still looks blurry as fuck, so I dunno, I'm still not convinced.

Anyways, I remembered now I did have a brush with sleep paralysis. I remember waking up in the middle of the night completely paralyzed and having a hard time breathing. I saw shadows around the room and the walls and ceiling were sort of warping as if I was looking through a fish eye lens. I remember that my eyes were trying to close and I heard some voice in my head telling me " close your eyes and you'll die" so I forced myself to keep them open. I few more seconds of struggling and I finally broke free. Needless to say, I didn't sleep a wink for the rest of the night.

Also, I remember a story that my sister told me once. She's a nurse, and one night during night shift she and the other shift nurses from that floor kept seeing a black figure going into one of the rooms. Turns out the next day the old man that was in the room died. She has a bunch of other stories like that but I can't remember them well.

i saw mentioning of it in the first few pages of this thread. i kinda skipped the rest of the thread. but i went ahead and looked it up. that description makes total sense... honestly i'd say that sounds like it could be what it was!

*edit* pancho above talked about difficulty breathing with his paralysis. come to think of it, i did have some trouble with it. just kinda forgot in the description earlier.
